We got off as soon as we saw the first hint of a fair and it was so cool. They had 8 different areas placed around the city with lots of crazy fair rides and stalls some had roller coasters and the last one had lots of shops selling food and other things like xmas stuff. We went to them all ...

Anyway we found our hotel and we upograded our room to have a kitchen so that could cook and rest and stay in a little before we go off to Morroco. So thats what we did we went to the supermarket ...

In Münsterplatz we rode the big wheel and got a nice view of the city lights reflecting on the Rhine. After our ride we just hung around a stall selling gluwein, drinking and chatting. Everywhere we went was crowded with people in good spirits and children full of sugar and excitement. Herbstmesse is a fun time in Basel!

... trunk and backseat, we said goodbye. It was a bit sad for me but mom had a really hard time. This is somewhat amusing as when I moved here, she didn't shed a tear when I left, but cried like a baby when Lincoln left later when my sister came to visit.

Stayed here a couple of nights. Just a really pretty place in the heart of the Black Forest. Got my first look at a woodcarvers shop and was blown away by the quality of the work. The fine detail has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. Snow everywhere ...

... with costumes and masks and bands. Damn near froze standing still for that long, but I had a good vantage point for the pictures so I wasn't going to move for fear of losing my spot. After the parade we got stuck into the gluhwein and some hot food then went back to the hostel for a hot shower, then out for dinner. We went to a local brewery that had a restaurant incorporated and had such a good time that we made it a regular while we were there.

... alot of American tourists/business people that stay there... some speak German... most of the tourists don't. So I could be of big help to them with that if they need it. The restaurant is only about a 10 minute walk from my house. Its not bad. Well i think that is all for now... i just created this one so that I could put up pictures... not all of them are in this one... only the ones i have on my computer right now... but there are plenty more.
