... four people! not good for alcoholics like me!

ok then, I have just traveled all the way down to Malacca and It happened to be a pretty hippie place to be honest, it is suppose to be a fairly big city of 700000 people but It seems much smaller to me, probably because I stay in the Chinese district, that means small houses full of details and colors, so far I haven´t been able to wake up early in the morning so no much of photography ...
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia chiyoda99... get the chance once I became ill). We also had to cut the visit short because Andy was finally joining us on our SE-Asia trip!!!

It was about 5pm by this point and we had agreed to meet Andy roughly around that time, but had not heard anything about him arriving in Melaka. We decided to over to where we had planned to meet him, and there he was! He had made it so Malaysia! We caught him walking out of a shopping mall after scoffing down some doughnuts: typical fatness ...
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia cereal42... Mosques and halfway down the next block, an ancient massive wooden Chinese Temple and across from it a massive marble Chinese temple as well. All in a brightly painted, ceramic covered, Chinatown with interesting arty boutiques interspersed with the undertaker and the machete makers. My permanent memory......I check in around three or four after an arduous blistering heat filled couple of hours spent in a Trishaw - brightly decorated bicycle with sidecar, a staple ...
Melaka, Malaysia everywhere... street and watched, talked and laughed for a good bit. We never saw the hostel people, so we headed back to our side of town sampling food along the way. The last day in Melaka was a little miserable for me. The prolonged heat and humidity and carrying a day pack finally paid its toll with heat rash that had started the afternoon before and become a lot worse in the evening. After a leisurely breakfast, I read up what to do on the Internet, and the prescription ...
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia mattandneetie... couldn't finish it all) we were very stuffed full of seafood and satay sauce...all for less than a fiver (£) including drinks! Apart from stuffing ourselves full of tasty satay, we did manage to get out to see the well maintained old colonial (Dutch) buildings and Chinatown. There's not a lot to see or do in Melaka, but we did find a nice spot for a beer by the river.
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia michelle_austynThis morning we were still in KL.. we got up early and went to the National Mosc b/c we weren't able to go yesterday because we were there during prayer time... it has a very 70's ish look to it. We then drove 2 hours on the public bus to Melaka... The whole area that is now the peninsula part of Malaysia used to be Melaka... Then the Portuguese came in 1511 and were here for the next 130 years... after that the British came and ...
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia alexiszn... carved staircase with gilded highlights. For light, there were two internal courtyards (due to the long, narrow nature of these homes). Some of the lower levels were partitioned by screens, for example, the guest room was separated from an area where the women of the house would wait. There were two tiny slits in the partition so that unmarried women could peep out and see the face of their visiting suitor. Chinatown is separated from the old commercial district ...
Melaka, Melaka State, Malaysia ziniandlulu... There are four ultimate diving spot here in Mentawai ,Siberut, Sipora, Pagai Utara (north Pagai) and Pagai Selatan (south Pagai). You can find great waves here year round, but the best waves are during dry season, March to October. Make sure you have the gut to explore all the glassy waves, because the best way to entitled your surfing experiences remarkable is through finding your own.
Mentawai Island, Indonesia ardhanHi all, So far Asia has been about what I thought it would be. The weather is quite steamy, about 90-95 degrees with 80% humidity. Ryan and I are drinking a ton of water but we don't have to go to the bathroom very much. The food is a little hard to get used to, for me because of spiciness and Ryan because of variety (not keen on squid, frog, fish head, etc.). Melaka was very enjoyable. It's a bit bigger than a village but easy to get around on foot/trishaw ...
Melaka, Malaysia riegling... before moving further north. We started in the south of the city first visiting Bukit St Paul, a grassy mound dominated by the ruins of St Paul's Church built by the Portuguese in 1521 and adopted by the Dutch and British successors. Next to the church were the ruins of part of old Portuguese fort Porta de Santiago completed with cannon and further along the Istana Ke Sultanan, an imposing dark timber palace which is a 19th century reconstruction of the ...
