Day 13 - Saturday - Rising up, back on the street

We surfaced early before it got too hot, and walked first on paved paths, then dirt roads, then through woodland paths, to get to the waterfall today, which took a bit longer than the 20 mins or so suggested (i.e double!) As it's been very dry, there wasn't much water falling, more of a worn tap washer trickle really! Anyway it was a nice view from high up on the cliffs, but getting hotter by the minute we were glad to get back for cooling showers before we rewarded ourselves ...

Day 11 Thursday - Many rivers to cross

... 25km were on dirt/stone roads, virtually off road driving! Took ages to get through this bit, then just as we were close to our destination we were diverted round the houses/back roads due to roadworks! This diversion also included having to drive through a small river/ford. Other cars were crossing here ok, and kids were playing on bikes through it, Julie though decided ...

... the boat, which was amazing to see. We also got to see manta rays and sting rays jumping out of the water. It was a really fun experience. Once on the Nicoya peninsula, we took a public bus to a somewhat large town and then after waiting for another bus that did not seem to be coming, we took a taxi the rest of the way to the villa Bonnie and Aaron had rented.

Once we finally arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hugs from ...

Up and finally made it downstairs and decided to have breakfast at Cristina's. Had the Gallo Pinto with Huevos which were quite nice. Talked with Eduardo about the kayak trailer and he had not yet been able to get the wheels repaired but said his father could help carry the kayak to the river if we wanted to paddle again.

Guess it was part lazy and part lazier, but Laura was not up for the paddle but finally relented and decided ...

We had made arrangements with Eduardo to use the kayaks in the morning when the tide would still be rising. Kayak rental was a great deal. $20 for as much as we wanted to use the boat while we were there. There were some other people that were going to use it later that afternoon but we had the kayak for the morning. It was a sit on top with no back but another chance to work on better posture. Low tide was to be at 7:00 a.m. that morning and high tide ...
