Jambo!

So here we are, Evs on tour - part 2, where I'm now a mazungu rather than a gringo!

My initial summary of Kenya would be this place is pretty random but absolutely fascinating!
Its already completely different to my previous 6 months in Latin America but I'm pretty sure
this is going to be an amazing 4 months..

... in the restaurant car on white linen tablecloths and watching the Kenyan world go by hanging out of the window at 6am make it all worthwhile. I experience a childish delight in the fact that my rucksack even falls out of the cupboard like a dead body when I open the door!

At dinner I was placed opposite the two most grumpy tourists I've encountered so far, as opposed to the friendly British couple that I'd met in the corridor. Ah well, this is where the adventure ...

... an die Lagerhallen .... aber alles war zugewachsen. Ich glaube, wenn die die ganzen ungenutzten Gleise und Wagons als Altmetall verkaufen würden, könnte ganz Kenia davon ein Jahr ernährt werden. Aber so liegt alles rum und verfällt .... ... by a local teacher (who infact didn't turn up) but as it was my free time (and I don't know how much help I could have been teaching 12 year olds Kiswahili) I helped Alice and Katie in Standard 2. This was a lot of fun as the children were learning all about animals, from Toucans to Zebras. Although it took a little bit of time to explain to the children that they not only had to write the question in their book but ALSO the answer, they all seemed to pick up the work well ...
