... where we anchored about 500 m from the island and went snorkelling for 3/4 hr. The water was a brilliant blue, so clear and lots of pretty fish were around. We were taken into Phi Phi where we had a smorgasbord lunch of traditional Thai food. ... a late lunch at Sweet, a massaman currey washed down by a Singha - cost about 150 baht ($5) - now thats livin! The dvd shop beckons, I buy 24 dvds for 1200 baht ($40), all legal the bloke says, 100% he says, yep I'm confident that the mogols at the movie production companies will get their royalty cheques! ... as I dived with one guy holding his hand, he kept getting excited over starfish, which exist on every ocean floor! ;))) But he was seeing it LIVE for the first time. It really is a privilege to share those moments with them. Tomorrow, I guide a customer on a fun dive! Yay! ... we went up to the view point and watched the sunset over Phi Phi Island. How romantic. If you've read my other blogs, you'll be familiar with 'The Nicest Toilet in the Area' game. Well, the winner here was the Phi Phi Hotel as the toilets in our resort involved us pouring water in the toilet to help it flush. Well that was definitely not going to happen! ... a Tin mining place and the people who built the town and made most of the money were Chinese immigrants who came to Phuket as laborers. They adopted aspects of Portuguese style into the buildings they built but also retained Chinese style which created a pretty cool looking little town. they must have just thought the Portuguese style was cool at that time in Phuket because it was new and different.
