It was up and away early this morning, at the Danang airport by 7.00 for our 7.55 flight. It was only an hour fifteen to Saigon as the Vietnamese tend to call HCMC. From there we caught a taxi to the bus station, this took a good forty minutes, and on arrival were lucky to get onto a bus to Can Tho departing 10.45. ... in their company, being stopped every now and again to say 'v' (cheers in Vietnamese) and necking half a bottle of beer to their obvious enjoyment; they were also kind enough to offer us the remainder of their spring rolls. We tried to reciprocate the generosity by buying a round of beers for everyone (7/8 local beers would have cost roughly 2), however they were too proud to accept the offer.
