... he had to visit more toilets than usual. We sometimes, no every time lost our way, but at the end of the day still arrived safely in Göreme where we could eat some of the delicious native-made cheese. Another alternative was the turkish pizza which was worth about € 2.

We left the place at the moment we liked it most, and found it would not get any better...

Another part of turkey was to be discovered...

love HelMan
Goreme, Nevşehir, Turkey helman... looking rock caves and structures I have ever seen. We took an overnight bus to the town of Goreme in the region of Cappadocia. We didn't have a hostel lined up but it is a small town so it was no problem to wonder around a little bit. We found a really great place where I am certain Richard Gere's long lost identical twin brother lives. They gave us a cave room (a room carved out of a cave) at a really good price with breakfast and a swimming pool right in the ...
Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey unbound... it was delayed a half hour. Egypt Air gave us a free soft drink, which we thought was very nice. However, once through passport control the delay had been changed to 1 1/2 hours. Then as 2:30 approached it was changed to 3 hours. Then 5. Finally, our flight was canceled. We had no money left because we had already changed it but luckily they gave us a free meal. Unfortunately, only fast food was available, and since we had been traveling since the night before we hadn't ...
Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey kickthrough... d had in Turkey. The crust had a distinctly tandoori flavor that was just so good... Or was that just because earlier at the underground city our tour guid had pointed out the Tandoori ovens and reminded us that the Turks were closely related to Indians who had moved away from the subcontinent and across Asia to Anatolia.

We got our cake from the fridge and brought it down to the bar. Outside of Fatboys there are a number of square seating areas with mattress ...
Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey jimmyandkristen... rock formations to create a huge series of rooms and caverns that was a working monastary until erosion forced them to abandon it. The view from the top and the intricate nature of the buildings architecture meant that this was another Cappadocia hit. After a typical tour jewellry factory stop (only notable for Cesca winning an onyx paperweight) we returned back to Goreme. Here we said goodbye to the US girls, Jess and Becky as they were ditching us and Fez and catching a ...

Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey krupnicksgo... views on the castle, too bad I don't have a bigger budget! From there I followed the signs to the Pigeon Valley but never found it! So the next day I took the bus to Uchisar with a French couple to attempt the Pigeon Valley again. These tuff houses where not for people but really for pigeons! This time we did start in the right direction and walk into the valley for a while until we reached a dangerous path and had to turn back. We were trying to find ...
Goreme, Turkey jennysabbatique... swimming at the beach. We saw tons of para gliders there sprinkling the sky and watched several land on the beach. That night we had a nice dinner in Ovacýk. Day 4 we were off to Bodrum. Along the way we checked out the loggerhead turtles in Dalyan. Boat tours were expensive so we thought we would try our luck just sitting along the docks. We had tea at a spot where they fed the turtles and saw them. They were huge! Got some decent photos- they ...

Istanbul, Turkey smyth... on top of you, came from unseen people. Apparently there is a cafe somewhere in the warren ('The Soft Rock Cafe') but we couldn't find it. Maybe this was just a Turkish joke.

We emerged back into the sunlight to warm up after our subterranean adventure. Our guide said that we had only seen ten percent of the city, but the rest was closed off on account of people getting lost inside it. He said that children, especially, were very good at doing this.
