The area of Okanagan lake is known for dry weather, high temperatures and its fertile soil. Perfect conditions to grow wine! There are around 35 wineries in the area of Osoyoos and Oliver and all of them offer wine tastings. We obeyed the signs Dont drink and drive and borrowed two bikes in Oliver. There is a nice paved road along the river that leads you to the winery area. We visited three wineries and all of them were quite different. ...

We couldn't believe the huge slag hill from the old copper, gold and silver mine with a teeny short smoke stack that must have ...

... the birds wake you up at dawn, bike all day, eat freeze dried food, and set up your tent that night to sleep on the hard ground. 5 nights seemed impossibly possible and we got busy researching bike racks and panniers, and borrowing light weight tents, sleeping bags, and other useful items. "Marianne and a tent" mused Dan, "do those two things go together? What will you do all alone in the hotel?" Determined ...

Our First Happy Hour of this Trip!

... expensive bikes that would spend a lot of time and miles on a bike rack but we wanted ones that would serve our needs. I think we chose well.

During the afternoon one of the group hosted a happy hour that allowed us to visit with others that we had not yet connected with. Don did a final adjustment of the bike rack and we settled in to watch Game of Thrones and Outlander. Can’t miss our ...
