We had a welcome day off Friday and caught up on some rest at our Casa Masip rooms. Later we wandered around the attractive town which in winter is also popular for skiing up the valley. Eating from 2pm – 4pm seems to be the main meal time so we tried that too. The menu was bit problematic and the waitress had no English. We did not know more than Hola, Si, Cerveza, Adios, Gracias but we picked a few items – one turned out to be pigs trotters! ! – tasty but oh ...

We are well rested for the last big day from the monastery to Ezcaray. Bit of a haphazard breakfast and re-padded one of the saddles to cruise back some of the way we had come - Berceo to Badaran 6km. We moved on in the warm sun for a couple of solid hours through the "Sierra de la Demanda" – which was apt.
