We had an OK room at the hotel. There was a delay in getting checked in when you arrive late because of limited staff. The hotel will utilize its Security personnel to help you with your luggage after 11 p.m. Finally, the hotel like many other hotels will not provide water for free even in light of the TSA restrictions that make it difficult to get water when traveling. You are able to walk to the terminal from the hotel which is located on the 3rd floor, and you do not need to take a shuttle which is a benefit when taking an early morning flight from the Tampa airport. The morning staff did offer a bell person to help take the bags to the airport check in desk which is a benefit.

Couldn't have been better!
As frequent travelers and die-hard tripadvisor users, my husband and I are reluctant to give 5 stars to any hotel. Does any hotel actually deserve that high of a score? The Marriott Tampa Airport does! This hotel had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The front desk staff were wonderful. The lady that helped us (I wish I remembered her name) was so nice. When we approached the desk and gave her our names, she immediately pulled up our information and ran it by us to be sure it was correct. She said, "You reserved a King, non-smoking room?" Since our room was listed exactly as we requested I took a shot in the dark and asked if there was any way we could have a room overlooking the runway, so we could watch the planes. So, she pulls out a map of the hotel and studies it to find us the best room! I was so impressed! When we got to our room, I pulled back the curtain and we were looking right at a section of gates that planes were pulling up to. They were no more than 15 yards from our window! Plus, we could see them taking off and landing on a side runway. Amazingly enough, there was little or no noise from the planes. But, since we live very close to Washington Dulles Airport, we welcomed the jet sounds as the reminded us of home. We got a fantasic nights sleep and even wandered the airport a bit before bed. The hotel is literally IN the airport, not next door to it. It was so convenient for our morning flight. The Tampa airport itself is very well laid out. One of the easiest airports we have ever used and we have used a lot of them! I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
Perfect hotel for those who have an early AM flight! They will pick up your luggage and walk it right to the airline terminal for you.
Rooms were very well appointed. The beds were super comfortable! The staff was ecellent and very helpful.
All roads lead to the airport in Tampa. Even during rush hour it was easy to get to. A little scary leaving the hotel because the exit is on a curve and people drive fast in Tampa. You can hear planes arriving and departing but there are not as many after midnight. Hotel was as expected except the water was not very hot in the shower. They have very comfortable beds. They charge for internet access (noon until noon - not 24 hours from the time you buy!) but parking is free.
Great hotel,great service
7/23/04 Great hotel, great service. Super convenient. We left a bag behind, they held it until we retrieved it (they would have shipped it but we couldn't wait). On our return flight out of Tampa one week later, the Marriott staff was willing to hold our 8 bags free of charge until our flight 7 hours later, bellhop took our bags to airline check-in, all free of charge (of course we tipped). Highly recommend this hotel - nice room, we even got a free movie!!!
Stayed here overnight awaiting a connecting flight, great rooms with the most comfortable bed and pillows ever. Very convenient as situated within terminal. Swimming pool closed for renovation for next few months but they will transport you to local hotel with pool if required
I would not have expected such a great property at an airport but I just got back from a 10-day vacation and started at this airport Marriott in Tampa. It had the very best bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in especially after flying all day and getting in at midnite. What a surprising treat. Stayed at a Deluxe resort at Disney World's Beach Resort the next few days for double the price and this Airport facility made the Disney hotel seem like a dump.
Concierge level is lovely
My daughter and I stayed here before an early morning flight. The concierge lounge on the 6th floor was a peaceful oasis to enjoy a glass of wine, nibble on complimentary h'ors doeuvres and enjoy the view. The queen size beds were incredible. And I was able to return my rental car a day early and stroll back to the hotel. Concierge level is perfect for women traveling alone.
If you are flying out of Tampa early in the morning and need to stay near the airport, pay the extra and stay here. Whether you choose to walk down from the front lobby to the restaurants in the airpoprt terminal the night before, (no driving here), or the convenience of having the bellman walk you to the expess check in of your airline with your bags AND help a first time user with the process, you cannot beat it! The staff is first rate and I never heard a plane all night. More money, no question. More convenience anywhere else? Impossible!
Tranquility at the airport!
We stayed here before flying back to the UK and it was a gem! The rooms were typical Marriott standard - which is always excellent. The staff friendly and very willing to help. The beds were SO COMFY, a real chance to relax before the long flight home. Give it a go - you won't be dissapointed!
Loved this Hotel
The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. We didn't hear anything.
It was great having valet parking and knowing exactly where our car was when we returned. Also, it was nice to take a stroll through the airport and have a little dinner before turning in for the evening.
This experience was well worth staying in the airport. Thanks Marriott!

... and the parkway was there. Ok, I was expecting something more, but it was just another two lane road in a park. The road was good, very little in the way of warnings though. Then as I went up, the clouds and drizzle started and the temp dropped. It was 54 degrees. A few quiet pockets of clear, but then lots of drizzle. Decided that I had enough after the peak and the rain picked up. The drizzle stings ...

We packed up and drove right across Florida to Tampa on the west coast. It took nearly 5 hours, partly because Neil wanted to take the 'scenic route' by the beach. Highways are boring but much faster. The countryside was flat all the way with fields of 'sod' and orange trees. It looks like most of the oranges are processed for juice or fructose. We had all had a creamy milkshake from Steak & Shake. When we arrived at the Tahitian Inn, Mum and Reuben had a swim ...

These two and others combined (Lewis, Frank, Bruce and many other short but fruitful connections) provided a great platform for me to relax and share some great times and unique experiences together. The last night seemed quite apt as we were quietly sitting on the beach watching a beautiful sunset over Clearwater Bay - It would have been a great closing scene to a relaxing but frenetic and intense movie...
