... and we eventually decided to make a run for another town a little off the beaten track but about 85km away. The town is called Haapsula and turned out to be a far more traditional (better) option to commercial Parnu anyway. So we squeezed into their small camp-site just after 7:40pm set up camp and took off into town for a feed and an evening walk along the seafront promenade.

A good day but a lot of travelling but now we are within easy reach ...

... of us were impressed with the starters ( white fish tartare (Julie) caesar smoked salmon salad (me) ) – Julie had baby white trout and I had duck and we both had crème brulee with rosemary & peach sauce. So today we have been to Haapsalu,the main town in the north-western coast of Estonia. Its unusual shape –a three kilometre long strip of land pointing out into the sea- is a mix of seaside resort and modernish town. Three sides of the town are covered by water and some people call it the Nordic Venice, but I am not sure that I agree with it having visited the city of Gondolas.



We arrived in Haapsalu via bus as the now former train station ...
