... altitude sickness, but my body definitely works overtime whilst at altitude. Shortness of breath, fatigue and just not feeling 100% certainly starts to take its toll after a few days. I thought once adjusted I would feel better, but for me it was a constant reminder of my bodies limitations.

Arriving in Quito, the first thing we noticed (after the altitude) was the change in temperature. Much warmer than Cuzco which was a relief. Our transfer to our accommodation took ...

... to hike to the top of El Panecillo, so along the way we stopped through plaza de la independencia. This square contained many shops and restaurants as well as the Carondelet Palace, where the president resides. To get to the top of El Panecillo, we had to ascend 900 steps to get to the peak, which contained the Virgen de Quito statue. The view above Quito was great, as you can see how the town flows over the mountains amongst the city. One thing was ...

    ... ready.
Next day we caught a taxi to the start of the Telepherique (cable car). It was a nice day so we didn't take our coats, this was a mistake as it was windy at the top. There was a walk to an even higher peak but due to the cold wind we stayed around the buildings, took some photos, had an instant coffee and then caught the cable car back down. We met a couple from San Francisco in the cable car and we ended up in a ...
