... to do much shopping so it was quite fun integrating with the locals. 1 of my favourite moments was when some of the locals tried to sell my some very small Y fronts much to our laughter! It just goes to show that of course you dont want to lose your backpack, it isnt as bad as it sounds.

Walking around Quito is fantastic. It was jointly the 1st city ever by awarded UNSECO world heritage status in the 1970s and although this did surprise me, I could see why. It is a ...

They just tell us to jump on the next one, no directions where to go, just jump on. We pay the 25c fare and jump on the next bus. ...

... it it took the best part of an hour.

First up was Mitad Del Mundo. The main attraction. There are lots of touristy type museums and planetariums talking about the equator, but we didn't bother with these (and the surrounding tat stalls) and instead just headed for the line, in the centre of which is a pretty big monument. It wasn't as busy as I was expecting but even so people were scrambling for photos around the line and momument. We walked around the ...

... the ball for a very short time before sending it on. One of the fellows could jump and he often lobbed the ball to the back of the court where the opposing player (one player at the back and two at the net) would often bend over backward to a degree I didn't think possible and return the shot. This was a serious game with lots of haggling and arguing over shots and wives and girlfriends watching. What impressed me most was the effort expended. These guys were ...
