We just finished a 2 week land-sea cruise in Alaska. This is something we have both always wanted to do and it was time. ... entire history of Alaska and its people. There were also two movies we watched - 'Winter' and 'Aurora'. I was surprised to learn how little rain they actually receive each year, and there snowfall is very dry. One man explained trying to explain: it was like making a snowball out of sugar - nothing sticks together. ... had been moved to the park from different locations around Fairbanks. In the museum there were dioramas of different ways that gold was mined. There was also a River boat with dioramas of all the towns where the River boat used to stop, train museum and Alaska Native museum. In one of the houses you could get great softie ice cream. Since it was raining, we pretty much had the park to ourselves.
