... 1938. The Parkway is also designated a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road -- a two lane road that winds among trees on either side. I stayed in an RV park just around the corner from the Visitor Center.

The roads in MS are fairly flat and straight (good for cruise control) with a mixture of pine and deciduous trees lining the roadway. Leaves were giving a last gasp of color (mostly brown).

Today was a driving day. Before we left Bristol, Dan went to a liquor store and was able to buy some local Moonshine. They were giving away free samples when we were in there a couple of days ago and it was actually pretty good! We left Bristol about 10 this morning and headed south. Our drive from Kentucky took us briefly through the Northeast corner of Alabama, where we saw our first cotton fields. It was amazing seeing those fields of pure white. I had never seen anything like it. Kat made me go into someone's field and grab some for her to keep as a souvenir. We gradually wound our way down to Cave Spring, GA to camp, which is about an hour NW of Atlanta.
