Parky isn't it!

... along the way...

What can I say about the journey home other than it seemed to take for ages... We left Mandrem at 9.30 am in the morning to drive south to Goa Airport where upon we flew to Mumbai arriving at aproximately 1.30pm. The flight from Mumbai to Doha didn't leave until 11.30pm so we had lots of time to do absolutely bugger all but wait. Now what you have to concider is, these times are British time and our flight from Mumbai to Doha was at 5am and we landed in Mumbai ...

Day 2 - The Reamer

... the gorge up the gorge” debacle followed by kilometres of what, bog? on top of a mountain?!! where the hell were we?!! Also, damn the reservoir where, having run out of water, Ryan requested that I wade in and try and get some water for boiling. Cold! Muddy! Undrinkable! Squidgy!

This was when my leg started coming out of its socket.

The Greedy Sheep Incident

Pennine sheep are in some parts greedy having been feed by walkers they rather expect food now. They will sneak up behind you but if you wave a stick they kind of run away and wait for you to stop paying attention again. I asked Ryan (remorseless *******) to watch ...

Canterbury Tales and Northern Moonkays

... to you. The Theory really took form at the house party I went to in London with Jimmy and Lloyd in which somebody spilled a cranberry-vodka all over my pants, yet you couldn't find a trace of it. In Canterbury, before things really got rolling, one of Helen's friends spilled a Snakebite all over me. I was only a couple drinks in, and sure enough, red pants. There is one major caveat to this Theory though. And it goes like this: backpackers themselves are more or less ...

In the days before wire was available, training of the wall fruit originally consisted of hand made nails and 'shreds' (strips of cotton the width of a finger'. These shreds were used to tie the newly selected branches of the fruiting plants to the walls and were often renewed. The Cannon hall pear tree collection is one of the most extensive in ...

Edinburgh – Leeds – Milton Keynes

... It hadn’t been an easy day together, a rather sorry way to finish off an otherwise great week, and I dare say at this point we were both relieved to see the back of each other.

I was to stay the night with my good mate Jon and his girlfriend Jen in their new house outside Milton Keynes, but I had desperately wanted to get there via Norfolk to see the small village near the Queen’s estate at Sandringham ...
