... our long walks by now! and yes, I had to take a pee in a sand dune again!) we settled back on the beach. Suddenly I hear someone on the beach say 'Awww dolphins' and looked up. Sure enough a pod of dolphins were swimming merrily across the horizon - this time you could see them jumping out of the water, their skin shimmering in the sunlight. Wow... this was for real, it was like someone out of a wildlife documetry! This beach was nice, but the waves were ...
Huskisson, New South Wales, Australia angiehug... high and due the continuing strong winds the water wasn't even making it halfway down. In fact most of it was being blown back over the top and falling on us, stood on the viewing platform, as rain. Charming! After talking a walk to get views from a couple of different angles we headed back to the car. From there we did a straight run though Sydney's western suburbs and then round to the east till we ended up at out campsite at Lane Cove just to the north of the river.
Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales, Australia willndebsHi all, Well, last night was another cold'un. Woke up at 5 this morning as I couldn't sleep in the cold. By 8 a.m. it was scorching (yay!) so we headed up to Mt. Keira lookout point to get some nice panoramic shots of Wollongong before heading south. We're heading to Dave and Harmina's in Nowra to stay tonight and we'll visit a few places on the coast on the way down. We drove down to Shellharbour 1st - lovely little picture postcard seaside town ...
Nowra, Australia craig.graham... attractions. It attracts more than a few hundred thousand visitors from all over the world all year round. In addition, it plays an important role of propagating the Buddha Dharma and promoting the exchange and harmonization of the eastern and western cultures as well as all religions. The idea to visit came about quite randomly, on a sunday morning whilst flicking through the paper and coming across a very small article (and i do mean small) article on the temple. The temple ...
Unanderra, Australia introducinlyric... though it is solely the positive bits) seems like some great memory that I would like to own and the mark Grace has left on the town with helping to set up the local museum and how she was greatly involved with village affairs and made a regular commitment to the local chapel (Anglican church) it's a shame but I am pleased that (seemingly) many people got to make/have great memories with/of my grandparents even if I didn't, which is a sad but true statement... However you will be ...
Kangaroo Valley, Australia adam_mooreAt 2am we finally got home to Wollongong and found that I had two job offers waiting for me on the answering machine. One was back at the Hospice and started the week we returned from Ayer's Rock, and the other was sellign cans of beer to footy fans for five hours on the weekend (guess which pays more) and starts this sunday (July 8th). So I took them both. All in all it was a great trip and we both loved it. We can't wait until out next trip to Ayers Rock!
Wollongong, Australia wayoung... 2- There wasn't a tsunami!! Though I was a little concerned at the tsunami warning, I came to learn that thats the first alert in a sequence of 3. I also planned where I would run if there ever actually was a tsunami. So I now have an escape route. :o) I love you all and miss you so much. I'll be in New Zealand April 6th - 16th and will update about that when I get back. <3
Sydney, Australia wanderlust-erToday is the first rainy and cold day here, so what a good time to do some updating. Friday I attempted to surf. Oh man, what a disaster. We went to Maroubra beach where the waves are bigger and closer to shore. You have to get past those and out further to surf cause if you take the waves close to shore you'll fall and hit the sand because it's too shallow. We were with a group of people that had been surfing there before. Oh, and there were a ton of ...
Coogee Beach, Australia wanderlust-er... and each floor has community bathroom/showers. There's also a community living room area and gigantic kitchen. Rob is on the first floor, I'm on the second. My roommate isn't here yet. You can HEAR the ocean from the front door, it's literally about a 2 minute walk to the end of our street. Across the street from the beach is a bunch of streets with a ton of little shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. It's a really cool place ...
Coogee Beach, Australia wanderlust-erFor once I actually couldn't wait to write this blog. I know I've been slack, but what can I say I've been busy, looking for work and of course having fun in my new home. Well its a little wierd to say that. I'm in Sydney. Australia. And I'm going to be here for the next six months. I love this city, I really am pleased I made the decision to return here from Perth, nice as it was. But here it just feels so much more alive; and there's a lot more to see ...
