... area a long time ago, and indeed this is where the afore mentioned lion tamer was employed. Cue Steve and Elaine digressing for some while about the park and what subsequently happened to it.

Anyway, the lion tamer came round to deal with the koala, bringing with him a cage. 'Not a proper koala cage of course, but one that should be strong enough'. After struggling with the koala it was eventually placed in the cage and the cage placed outside to await the morning and ...
Beechmont, Queensland, Australia jenandtony... keinen.
Tugun, Queensland, Australia pacificocean... it was a joke but when they mention anyone from England it's 'Oh yeah, he's from Manchester...a Pom'. Hard day at work for Rob today so a chilled evening of dinner and a few beers, then off to bed. It's a bank holiday on Monday so a lot of plans were made for activities this weekend (it's the Queen's birthday...now I may be wrong but do we get a bank holiday back home for her birthday...I think not!). June 5th After walking around 12-15 km's yesterday today was my ...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia rolls... the place and call it home. But, as I now say.. Home is where you hang your hat - I just have many hats. Many hats = many homes, and Australia will always be one for me now. It was also GREAT to get to opportunity to see some of aussie before I left too. If anyone is thinking about traveling Australia, I highly reccomend it!!! Its a little more expensive to travel than Asia or South America, but the back packer trail is ...
Gold Coast, Australia phillthomas... to make it through alive and got back to Nerang station slightly dryer. On the way home we spotted the most amazing rainbow I have ever seen in my life. It's so hard to explain and I have tried to capture it in a photo but it doesn't do it justice. It was so bright that it hurt your eyes to look directly at it.. and this rainbow went all the way over! Usually they disappear into the clouds but this one had a beginning and an end... we didn't find any gold though. Doh. I tried to ...

Surfers Paradise, Australia scurvalius... small town full of hippies and organic food and then I got on a bus and an hour later I arrived in the Australian playtown. Surfer's Paradise sole purpose is to seperate people from their money with flashy lights, theme parks, strip clubs, restaurants, souvenirs and various other entertainment complexes. It is home to the 24 hour store (something I completely forgot existed since everything closes at 5pm in Byron). One might ...
Surfer's Paradise and Brisbane, Australia h.dubOn Sunday morning ( ok it was actually early afternoon cuz we slept), we headed down the coast to a town just south of Surfers Paradise. Yes there really is a town that is called that, but I doubt it really is Surfers Paradise. Today it is a pretty big resort town with tons of big buildings. We have seen heaps of towns that seem to be better ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia mrewkowskiWe flew up to Brisbane from Sydney and hired a car in Brisbane. We stayed at the Bunk which again was a really nice hostel, they are so much better than the ones I stayed in in South Africa. We went to Steve Irwins Zoo just outside of Brisbane, it was a really good day out, they had a snake show, tiger show, crocodile show & bird show. We also got to feed the kangaroos & stroke ...
