realised my social batteries had been recharged after days of mostly solitude..

im meeting people... went to the local hotel lobby... nobody there...
passed one big foreigner guy - looked in his 40s..
thers no foreigneers in "Tak" - except peace core! wtf... probably a pedophile..??

there beer was too expensive - didnt get one..

... my experiences with such a greater depth of meaning now. I am just so grateful for the freedoms and the opportunities I have had throughout my life that have been so easy to take for granted. Although I don't believe in war in any way, shape, or form, I appreciate the sacrifice our soldiers make every day of their lives. I just wish it was all really about freedom and I will always hope that no matter what it is, we can find another way.

... flash cards. We drove back through the flooded streets to eat noodles at a restaurant. We headed back to teach the 2nd and 3rd graders. They learned how to say where they're from, and Miyoung and I drew a map to show where we were from in the U.S. The kids played a game with the vocabulary from their books.
