... somebody has closed the window curtains to block the sun. At night, it's very hard to see the signs from the train. And some of the signs have faded from the sun so you can't read them. ... Peaches & Herb. (There is bus service in Hasami, but I didn't explore whether any of the buses go to a Japan Rail station. The answer is probably yes.) I got on a local train, which took forever, but I was just glad to be sitting down. These local trains are slow, but they provide basic transportation (about once an hour) for school kids and the elderly, a godsend if you happen to live in a small village like Nabeshima and don't drive.
