Day 4 (bound for Praslin, asleep instead)

... of people so I figured I had a chance. As I walked up, I asked the driver if it was okay, and with a slight hesitation he said "yes, just go to the back", and so I did. As we went along, picking up more passengers, I felt like somewhat of a jerk a when there were no more seats available, and women were having to stand-up next to me while I was taking up two seats. I was prepared though to stuff the duffel bag under the seat if someone started ...

Day Two

... He just parked the bus, turned it off, and took a break. I asked him how much time before he continued back, and while waiting, I snapped some great photos of the water and rocks down below . Then he and I got to talking. His name was Jimmy. I asked him some questions about living and working in the Seychelles. He told me his story, how he lived on Praslin, but stayed on Mahe with his family to make his living, and after ...

A vacation from our travels!

... oops! After a little panic, we confirmed that there is a high commission in Mahe. Add that to the to-do list in seychelles! We arrived in Mahe and were welcomed with two 20$ cab rides and a 40 Euro ferry ride (each!) We knew Seychelles was expensive but we were hemmoraging cash! We spent our first 4 nights on Praslin at La Cuvette (at 70 Euro per night, the cheapest place on the island!) It was a good little place and a good intro to the island life. It was just us ...

And yet another

... I imagine I must have looked much like Cousin It before I dunked my head back to remove the hair curtaining my face. I must have been swimming for a while because when I looked up, I noticed that about a dozen people dotted the shore halfway down. I just realized how many times I must have described beaches over the last year. The first time I really remember seeing the ocean wasn't until my mid-teens. I guess growing up completely landlocked really helps you appreciate this stuff.
