Wedding Ceremony

6:30am, Nov 30, Amritsar. The wedding was absolutely amazing! I hope you guys were able to watch it live as well. More apologies for the delay between updates, it's all been very hectic since I got to Ankush's place. Many ceremonies for welcoming guests, blessing the groom, traveling to the palace, dancing, more ceremonies at the palace, then getting back to my hotel at 5 or 6 am. I left basically everything at Ankush's house, so I couldn't upload photos or write a ...

There was litter everywhere, people were taking dumps wherever, and the rivers looked dirty. I wasn't really shocked because I heard so much ...

Heart of Punjab

A travel blog entry by rtwma on Nov 22, 2011

We made it to our final destination in Punjab: Bathinda. We visited a lot of family here also and it was amazing that in one place, 5 generations of our family lived there. We really enjoyed spending time with family and had a party one evening to meet everyone.

We also attended the opening of a computer room of a school for poor children ...

... looking for illegal items ie: drugs, firearms, plants or dairy products. They showed Des and Lou a car park with about a dozen vehicles which were impounded because they did not have the correct paperwork such as carnets. Fortunately everything was in order with our paperwork and we were allowed to go on to Amritsar. We pulled up about 100 meters down the road for a coffee, coke and water break, one which was shared with several interested Indians. We still have to get used ...
