The drive from Amritsar to Chandigarh is a 250 km drive and it took us about 5 hours to get there. Why so long? Well there is not a lot of national highways along the way so it does get congested along the way. Kind of like the Gold Coast highway back when it was only 1 and 2 lanes.

The morning starts with a goodbye hug to Gloria and since I could be her mother I made her a fresh fruit salad so she had something in her stomach for her morning travel to Delhi. We shared a unique experience therefore I'll be her aunty,
I am the only volunteer in this Sikh household and thankfully there is a beer in my 2nd level fridge for what I anticipate to be a couple of long nights ahead. Time for reflection, packing, and writing.

We made it to our final destination in Punjab: Bathinda. We visited a lot of family here also and it was amazing that in one place, 5 generations of our family lived there. We really enjoyed spending time with family and had a party one evening to meet everyone.

... in India as we are considered their guests, nice touch. Des and Lou had to go out today to buy third party insurance for India. We have to do this for all countries we go into now. We thought it could be done at the border, but this is not the case. After dinner at Café and I, the hotel's restaurant, we all went to see The Golden Temple in Amritsar. This is a huge white temple with a magnificent golden dome. Our tuk-tuk driver was happy to wait the hour while we looked inside ...
