... where our local tribe (Mahesh) does not want to take a chance to get us near to that. Believe me I have seen elephants in city, but these elephants cannot be compared with any one seen here.
We took a tea break in the main village and started climbing up a mountain to towards another part of jungle as Masinagudi and near by village includes around 1000 sq kms of densed forest in Mudhumalai.. The time is around 4.30pm and the weather was cloudy so the jungle looks little ...
... that the school gives people is with them for life.”
After less than two days Hebron gave me something that will stick. I have a strong sense of myself, and what I’m doing with my life. I am acutely ambitious about it, and long ago vowed that if I can’t go to heaven or live forever then I can only live an extraordinary life. And it’s nice to know that there is a phenomenon out there that reflects who I am. It’s good to be part of the group.
... seeing any elephants, we spotted a lone tusker a few feet inside the forests. Now that’s what I call a treat for the eye!!!!
As we approached the place where we were old we would be put, I was taken
aback. Here I was expecting a rustic ‘in the middle of the jungle’ set of cottages with maybe no electricity and quite prepared for the most ‘away from ...
After leaving Kimi and Jonny's home in London I make my way to Heathrow to become one of the thousands leaving to go somewhere on this sunny Sunday. My driver is from India and thus begins the culture lesson on the place I shall be flying to today. :o) It always amazes me that unlike American airports, which seem to be chaos filled, the larger airports elsewhere in the world are far more serene. There are no long snaky cues, no congestion, no one yelling at everyone to take their ...

In a place aptly titled the Bison Valley, we stayed in the Planters Bungalow. The bungalow overlooked the valley and we had great moments 'bison spotting'. The bison is a shy creature and keeps away from humans and here they were all over the valley. Since we were staying there on weekdays, we had the place all to ourselves.
Coonoor is a place untouched by time. Tucked away in the Nilgiris, the ...
... on the way back. We also saw a wild elephant, but we could barely see it. I took a picture and it looks like a rock, but it seemed cool at the time! After 36 hairpin turns we made it to Ooty. I'm still not sure why, but its a touristy area, and there were lots of foreigners there so we were getting less stares than usual. The city was really pretty, and the weather was so much cooler than Mysore, since we were up in the mountains ...
Udhagamandalam, Tamil Nadu, India ruthbarzHello again, **As a side note before I begin, my camera ran out of battery power on the trip and thus I** **borrowed another one of my companions pictures. Therefore quality and style may differ** Sorry for the delay in getting the second part of last weekends journey up. Apparently while I am traveling around India they want me to get some work done as well. Go figure. So anyway, when I last left off, we had just taken a cab to the city of Ooty and finished ...
Coonoor, India pomide... and thereby save them the transportation (which all costs). Here they will remove foreign bodies from peoples eyes, treat infections, do checkups for vision, glaucoma ( in danish = groen staer) ect. ect. Patients who need surgery get reffered to the hospital and even get a possibilety to hich a ride. Dr. Ravi is as mentioned before a general practitioner in Kotagiri. He starts his day early in the morning where he ...
Kotagiri, Coonoor, India antontedja... even if you go on some serious national park trekking, is an extremely rare event. To see it cross the road in front of your car, as you are just passing through, seems incredible. We were particularly thrilled given our sorry history of wildlife expeditions, which we have discussed earlier. The tiger sighting was a highlight of India and of our entire trip. Once in Ooty we checked into a homey place called the Reflections Guesthouse. A nice feature of the ...
Ooty, India kristymatt... India, each of whom I have promised, and fully intend to visit again. All of them have also been invited to Scotland as well, where we will do our very best to provide the level of hospitality that we received on our trip. It has occurred to me, that Indians must be shocked if they visit friends in Europe or America where they would be expected to organise themselves for the most part. Well, you can be sure that any Indians who visit this Scotsman will not be treated like that.
