... climbing up the hill, most of which I failed to recognise!
The river was very busy, with lots of small bamboo rafts, smaller boats, as well as countless ferries like ours chugging up and down the river. We were told that , in the high season there would be twice as much traffic. Hard to imagine, as although the river is wide, the deep part is actually quite narrow.
We saw a few water buffalo along the banks, ...
Friday June 14th was our last day in Taizhou. We started the day by traveling to a nearby, small city to learn about chinese medicine practices. It was really great that Wei got us out of a city to learn about this, so that we could get away from all of the modern medicine and hustle and bustle. The "pharmacy" that we first went to took you back in time the moment you stepped in. The walls are lined with small drawers filled with different herbal medicines. ...

We then also learned that they brought in a chef all the way from Shanghai to prepare the meal for us, who also handpicked each steak and had them imported to Taizhou. It was incredible. The hospitality that Taizhou gave to us was something truly special.
... went perfect. I've never felt so special or important in my life, than i did in Taizhou!
We then went to a spa/health center to end our night with foot massages. We soon found out that by "foot massage", they mean "full body massage with extra time spent on the feet". It was unreal. the massage lasted 1 hr 40 minutes, and they massaged everything from our feet to our backs, even our butts! ...
... i found piglets alive in china! :) It was set up to keep the history of chinese farming alive, but now its just a nice day out wandering around and there is a large lake in the middle with boat rides and ox rides and a funfair! It was brilliant, we had so much fun! I learnt a lot too! Alissa was a lot like me and we got on so well, it was a shame i only got to meet her for one day! But we keep in touch through email and QQ and were planning to meet up in suzhou before i leave! :)
