... back on the bus and traveled to the Suzhou Design and City Planning Firm. Here we went through a short tour of the show space that featured a scale model of the city. We also watched a video and met for a lecture where we met some representatives from the company. Finding a fruit stand was next on the agenda. ... expensive. We inquired about a huge piece depicting a Jade vase. I was thinking it would look great in the foyer of our house. It will not be leaving Suzhou. The price 1 million US $$, ha, ha!
Tonino Lamborghini Hotel where we are for one night is fashioned after an Ancient Garden complex. Every part of the hotel takes advantage of the environment -- the water, Jinji Lake, trees, birds and the sky. A real treat to enjoy the experience.

So, my trip to Xinjiang and Gansu was my first attempt at truly travelling solo, and it was definitely a different experience to travelling with friends. I'm not suggesting it was a bad thing, simply different. Here are a couple of things that I learnt on my adventure:
