Following our excitement on Saturday, we were looking for a calmer day. Alison and I planned to walk to the Suzhou Silk Museum. It has received several favorable reviews on TripAdvisor. We set off very early this morning so that we would have plenty of time at the train station to queue for our ticket. However getting out of campus itself proved challenging as the gates were still flooded as last night and it was continuing to pour. I took my shoes off and walked mid-shin deep in my socks through and once inside the metro station I changed into my open shoes rather than new socks and trail shoes.
