... of the island visiting the World's second largest wave, Teahupoo. It wasn't really forming whilst we were there but it was great to visit it nonetheless.
Overall, French Polynesia was a great place to visit. It seemed very geared up for resort type holidays and the 'bagpacker' scene seems to be just developing. We left feeling happy to have seen the beautiful scenery, the waves and to have met some great people.

We spent the afternoon again reading, updating blog etc and at 5-30 Bob Snow came to our room for a predinner drink and then we walked to Le Mandarin Chinese restaurant which Fletcher and I had spotted during our walk. I arrived in Tahiti after being hit by the mother of all
squalls. At 2am I was on watch and saw a very large, very dark and very fast
moving cloud coming towards us. I did my best to try and get away from it but
I’m afraid my luck ran out and I was left to experience the full wrath of this
