... of the island visiting the World's second largest wave, Teahupoo. It wasn't really forming whilst we were there but it was great to visit it nonetheless.

Overall, French Polynesia was a great place to visit. It seemed very geared up for resort type holidays and the 'bagpacker' scene seems to be just developing. We left feeling happy to have seen the beautiful scenery, the waves and to have met some great people.

To the USA!!

Had a free day so walked to the Stadium, 40mins each way in the heat, to register and get our tshirts - bright yellow and orange! Opening Ceremony held on the waterfront with entertainment by hula dancers etc - the full Tahitian stuff. Dinner was at 'the Roulettes' caravans on the waterfront. Took lots of ...
