... be hundreds of years old, before we prepared for Mass in St Marks Basilica and dinner. Mass in another language, easy. While I am tempted to pick up in Latin, the whole Mass was understandably in Italian. The Basilica was modelled on Sancta Sophia in Istanbul, and while it is smaller, the interior is much better preserved. ... marble screen, more like a wall. Entering through the screen, you're surrounded by the dark wood of the monk's choir stalls, which were one of my favorite areas of the church. The stalls are intricately carved and very beautiful. Beyond the choir, is the main altar which features Titian's Assumption - also an impressive work of art - which used to hang in the Galleria dell'Accademia.

... my candle from the tabbacci. Fried the pesche in butter, with sautéed zucchini and a coconut pastry from the Afgan ristorante for dessert. Not bad at all. It is a great feeling to accomplish daily type tasks and come to know a place, the shops and the proprietors. But I also had some fun with a photo shoot when I got home.
