Travel Blogs from Mykonos Town
We rented a quad (ATV). All rentals are limited to 50cc so the tourists do not hurt themselves. A quad is the best way and most fun way to get around the island. Driving quads is not difficult. Main thing is drive at your level of comfort. The other drivers are quite good with giving the tourists room. If not take the space you need, they will not …
Mykonos is a wonderful island to visit. It is very different from Santorini. Santorini is a quiet romantic island with lots of great sights, restaurants, and shopping. Mykonos also is an island full of great sights, restaurants and shopping, however it is not quiet. Mykonos is well known for being a party town. The bars open very late 10-11PM and …
It was with a sad heart that we left Mykonos. This pretty much signalled the end of the Greek portion of our trip. We loved the last 2 weeks spent in Santorini & Mykonos. We will be back in 2013. Thank you, Anna, Yanni, Jimmy, Deena, Anthony, Mark, Tony, Martin, Linda, Andrew and everyone else who made this a very special & memorable trip.
From Little Venice you can see 5 large windmills that were once used to grind wheat. Today it is a tourist photo op, and a nice backdrop for Little Venice. If you pass over the hill and follow along the water you will get to a bay with a nice beach and 1 restaurant in the middle of it. This is Nicko's Place (Joanna's). It became our favourite …
This night started of innocently enough. We had met 2 Canadian gals Linda & Glenda travelling together, on our 25th wedding anniversary at Kastro's Restaurant in Oia. These two travelled with a Ken doll that they dressed up in different outfits as per the occassion. They have taken pictures of Ken on this trip and put up a blog of Ken and his …

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Tagoo Mykonos Town
Most amazing sunsets at Hotel Tagoo
After reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor my husband booked our stay in Mykonos at Hotel Tagoo. When we arrived at the island we were immediatley greeted with a complimentary shuttle from the port by Yianni. Upon check in we met Anna. When she took us up to our room we were thrilled. The hotel has the best sunsets and every night we would just stand out on our balcony and watch them in ah. Anna was great at recommending where to eat and shop. She is fluent in both Greek and also English, which helped me because I'm not fluent in Greek.
The hotels location is great. It is located about a 10 minute walk from the main center which we didn't mind because we wanted the exercise. If we have the opportunity to return we will definetly go back to Hotel Tagoo.
Tolles Hotel, Supergeil!!! - SUPER nette Besitzer!!!
Vielen Dank Anna !!!
The perfect views/service/location for the best price
I have spent a relaxing weekend at this lovely hotel the first week of June. Since I have travelled to many places around Europe & Greece, I could not believe it when I arrived there (this place was reccomended by a friend). The location is very very good, the rooms were very clean and the service/assistance from Yiannis and Anna (the owners) can only be found in such small family run hotels. The views from the pool are unforgettable and still "follow" me back in my office in Lausanne (I have one as screensaver). I reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants to get THE best value for money in Mykonos.
I went to Mykonos with my husband for our honeymoon in mid June. After reviewing various travel books and travel websites, I decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel is excellent. It is close to the Mykonos town which can accomodate our daily needs (both my husband and I do not have driving license). We had a short walk to the town and enjoyed the beautiful scenery around every day. Anna and her brother Jimmy is very helpful. Anna was so kind to offer a great room for us. My husband was amazed by the beautiful scenery and the sunset of Agean Sea. We even have thought of staying one year at this place. I still cannot believe this quality hotel is offering such a competitive price. The breakfast is simple but as what Anna suggested, the cost is very competitive in the Mykonons area. Hotel Tagoo is the best place for people who prefer to relax in a tranquil environment while enjoying the entertainment at the town center. Last but not least, I would like to thank Anna for everything. She and Hotel Tagoo gave us the best memory for our honeymoon.
A week ago we said to all at Hotel Tagoo, "Yiasou, thase doksana" as our vacation in Greece, Crete and the Cyclades came to a close as they always do--too soon.
We read some fantastic reviews of Hotel Tagoo and we (my boyfriend and I) were a bit sceptical when we saw the prices but we weren't disappointed. We had some problems getting in touch with the hotel and found their website elusive (don't confuse this with Cavo Tagoo) but with a dot gr hoteltagoo becomes easier to find. We were met at the airport by a welcoming Anna (the owner) which set the tone for our holiday, she gave us a lift to the hotel and as soon as we arrived we were made to feel relaxed & given recommendations for what to do, where to eat (there is no restaurant at the hotel although breakfast is available) and most importantly where to avoid. Anna does this out of her own goodwill and is not on any commission for her recommendations, your enjoyment is her only motivation and her genuine interest in you as her guests make her the perfect host. Jimmy, the bartender was always smiling & friendly - he makes a mean banana daquiri. HIs greek salads are tasty too! Even Leah the cleaner/waitress was extremely friendly and helpful.
Best value on Mykonos
If you pick a hotel based solely on the level of luxury, regardless of the price, there are other hotels on Mykonos that will be more to you liking. However, if you want a clean, comfortable room with all the standard amenities, and a fabulous view with most helpful management, then Hotel Tagoo is one of the best finds in all of the Greek islands. We stayed in one of the larger rooms (I highly reccommend that you book one of these given the low cost in any event), with a spectacular view of the sea. And what a beautiful fool and bar area on top of the hotel, run by very friendly sister (seh married a Greek) and brother formerly from Canada. I can't believe that there is a better value anywhere throughout the islands, much less on Mykonos!
"Oh my goodness" is the reaction. For the affordable price this place is perfect. I travel a lot and I always expect cleanliness and comfort. Well, I got that at hotel tagoo. What I didn't expect was to be treated like a family member. Anna, Yanni and Jimmy are the greatest pple on mykonos. I met so many pple on the island and they didn't even know the names of the pple working at their hotel nor did they rave about it.
We stayed at this fantatic hotel in mid-June, 2005. Upon arrival at the Tagoo Hotel my husband and I were immediately welcomed with warm and inviting Greek hospitality by Anna, the owner, and her brother Jimmy, the resident bar man... and to our amazement even by the other guests! We were shown our room, a perfectly comfortable and spotless seaview room with all the amenities. Within two days, we were upgraded without additional charge to an even larger suite with an even more stunning view of the sea and sunsets from our own private terrace. Each night by the pool bar we were entertained by Jimmy serving up his special "cocktail du soir" and were able to meet and mingle with the other guests or find a private spot and enjoy the romantic sunset. Tagoo prides itself on being a "family friendly" hotel, and for good reason. One night, Anna and her husband Yanni and their families hosted a wonderful barbeque for the guests and staff (with tasty traditional greek cuisine and vegetables fresh from their home garden)... to top off the night and to our delight, both Anna and Yanni performed a traditional greek dance!
With no original plans to go to Mykonos and no reservations, my husband and I arrived at the port on a Monday in early July. When we saw Iannis there with the pictures of the Hotel Tagoo and its beautiful pool, it was a no-brainer. The price was great - even less than we usually pay for hotels in the States, even when booking through discount sites.
