... looks absolutely disgusting it was actually really nice! On the 4th stop I got off again and by the 5th I was following the guide with everyone else holding Craig's hand of course looking for reef sharks. I was gutted we didn't see any reef sharks as I'd built up the courage so quickly but at the same time quite glad as I think it would've freaked me out! I was swimming through shoals of fish, having a panic here and there but was so proud of myself for even being in the water let ...

      The Thai Islands

A travel blog entry by adventuresofec on Aug 05, 2014

Golden stretches of beach, peaceful turquoise lagoons, and 20,000 people partying by the sea. This was our vision for the Thai Islands; but first we had to get there.

We hopped on a Sleeper train in Bangkok after a frantic tuk-tuk drive to the station. We sped south throughout the night without a wink of sleep, and were greeted with a 5 hour delay at the pier. A 9 hour journey rolled into 20 hours of hanging ...

We snorkelled though and just enjoyed chilling out for a few days. The weather was the hottest we've seen it, very sunny and bright but the temperature didn't let up at all even in the evening. When we were on sairee beach, the weather was so hot that the sea wasn't even a relief, it was very shallow and so was like getting into a really hot ...

... the Advanced Diving Course. To accomplish the advance diving you have to do five adventurous dives, my choice was a night dive, deep dive ( combined with the wreck diving), peek performance buoyancy, navigation dive and fish identification. I honestly enjoyed each of these dives, but I guess my favourite was deep diving when we got down to 30 meters and dove next to the wreck and also the night dive which is totally different ...

... though, where the speed boat cost a ludicrous $21 for a 10 minute ride. There was a great view point there that required quite a bit of sweat. In typical SE Asian fashion, the jagged rocks at the top didn't have enough room for everyone, no handrails for safety, and a long way down if you slipped. I was sweating so much on the camera that I thought I might break it. During the second night, we were taken to almost every restaurant in ...
