20 Moo 3, South side of island Ko Tao, Thailand, 84280, 66-(0)77-456503-
Wednesday 16th - Sunday 20th August '06 (Summary) On the Wednesday, still on Ko Phangan we were up and out and on a pick-up truck, shortly after 10am - the destination Thani Sadet, perhaps 8km away further round the coast. The truck was packed, a dutch family, a swiss backpacker, us three, two rather annoying english girls who kept saying 'Chiang Mai is amazing' and an English geezer on a visa-run (a hop over the nearest border and back in again to extend his stay). The roads were truly churn...
Koh Tao, Thailand rgw...Honestly this has really been my first deep breath so far. I'm taking a vacation within a trip here in the brilliant islands of Southern Thailand. Really just Ko Tao. I wanted to find my little bungalow out of the way and get some perspective and focus on what I've been doing and where it's going and how to communicate it to you. I've had almost 2 weeks and it took the first week just to be able to slow my mind so that I could hear it again. I can use this kind of language of course because I...
Ko Tao, Ko Tao, Thailand sonicbridgesAfter almost two weeks of sun & diving here on Koh Tao, it's time to leave. Kristina wants to continue our trip, so we'll be staying away until just before the funeral. We've been in touch with If (our insurance company, who are great by the way), and they are sorting out tickets for us to fly home on the 11th of Feb. Georg's funeral will be on the 16th. The time here has been great. We've stayed at Taa Toh Lagoon Dive 'Resort' (wooden bungalow, great view, cold water, no towels, toilet paper...
Koh Tao, Thailand varneyI woke up again at 6:30am. Most of the people on the boat were awake as we pulled in to the island of Koh Tao. I was grateful for the bed and I had definitely caught some sleep, but I'd also moved around a lot and had definitely watched the sunrise through the windows. Now the boat had moored and we all sort of scrambled up, fully awakened from our stupor and grabbing our bags as we watched our big bags get unloaded onto the crowded dock.

We jumped off the ...
Koh Tao, Thailand claraz8... br>
day one consisted of 3hrs in the classroom, some theory taught by chris, our instructor and watching a dvd made by padi. than after lunch we were onto the boat! officially, a padi course consists of a number of short "confined dives", basically dives in a pool to get you used to equipment, before taking to the open water. but easy divers prefer to do these dives off shore, in about 2-3 m, making it far more interesting, as during the skill ...
Ko Tao, Thailand marklawless1... so I lifted my foot out of the salty water and it started to bleed quite badly. Panic set in.

I hopped to the shore waiting for Emma to return, fearing sharks would smell my blood in the water. Emma returned and patched me up and then told the hotel owner who got me a motorbike ride to the clinic. Moments later I was lying on a table and being stitched up. It all happened very fast.

Emma arrived shortly after and caught a glimpse of my foot ...

Well, either that or undoing your bikini top before you lie on a Thai beach for a few hours.

Still, sunbathing did lead me to meet my next group of companions, a raucous crowd of Irish girls on holiday for a few weeks. They weren’t shy about boys and drinking and before long we’d attracted the attention of a Thai waiter at a ...
Ko Tao, Thailand chloeb... and they will arrange it.
On first impression on arrival at Nang Yuan it seemed just as we had seen in the pictures although closer inspection found that it was perhaps a bit less than pristine. We were quickly signed in and assured that our continuing journey would be arranged for us. We were then unceremoniously chivvied along by the manager who dispatched his ’boys’ to carry our bags. We were surprised when, after a short walk around the corner past the dive ...
Koh Tao, Thailand jenandtony... camera, I have no photos to share, but I did see Nemo and Dory, and several clownfish setting up in anemones! My favorites were the small electric blue fish. Unfortunately, you can also see here where the coral is bleaching and has bleached. There isn't much action on climate change in this part of the world, but a change of only a degree or two can decimate coral. Anyway, enough of my weak sauce "information" and on to the adventure part ...
Ko Tao, Thailand sarakmills... Jamaican reggea music in the resort`s restaurant, the salty smell of a grand ocean full with tropical fish that attracts foreign tourists from all over the world bend on getting their Padi Dive Certificate and feasting their eyes on all that down under the surface of the sea, beautifull sea life created by Mother Nature. I walk through small sandy lanes lined by souvenir shops, clothes made of silk and cotton sold at ...
