Day 46. Worse ever boat journey

A travel blog entry by alandbeth on Dec 17, 2014

Al to tell of his dives .......the first dive was the deep water dive, which meant we had to go down to 30m in depth. We went to a wreck for this one, a friendly German fella joined us for this one. The wreck was a deliberately sunk old American war ship for divers to use-the depth was no problem for the years thankfully!
It, does however, use up a lot more air and distorts the colour at depth.
The last dive was underwater navigation, ...

Some useless information first - Koh Tao means Turtle Island and forms part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand. It covers an area of about 21 kmē and its official population is 1,382 but doesn't take into account the 1000s of backpackers and tourists that flock here in it's main summer season.

My first dive of the day was a buoyancy control dive where we practiced how to stay level in the water to prevent sinking or rising. My second dive of the day was a navigation dive where we practiced how ...

... Before we could ascend we had to make a 3 minute safety stop again. I don't think there are words for me to express the way that I felt in those 3 minutes floating weightlessly under the ocean surrounded by fish having just been proposed to completely out of the blue and having my brain piecing things together. There is an indescribable feeling that comes over you, especially when it is so unexpected, that the person you love and have loved every day for the last 3 and a ...
