Magical mystery tour of the four M's!

Today I went on a Magical Mystery tour of four places starting with the letter M: Mellieħa, Mgarr, Mosta and Mdina!

I set off in the morning with Victor, passing the yacht he looks after (Lady G), and waving to Egle who was working on another boat with the captain Tom. We hopped into his black monster of a car and picked up Damien on the way.

Our first impression of Mellieħa was 'Wow! Look at that view!' ...

We then stopped shortly at Calypso's Cave, the famed location from Homer's The Odyssey in which the beautiful nymph Calypso seduces Odysseus into living with her for 9 years after the Trojan War. Monday May 20: Gozo, and Ferry

... We walked around there for 30 minutes, then headed to the capital city of Victoria.

We hiked up the long staircase to the top of the Citadel. The cathedral sits in the plaza at the top. We went in the archeological museum to see the artifacts from Ggantija temple.

Lunch was on your own, so we found a cafe at the very top of the city wall, and enjoyed a tuna pizza with salad and beer.

We shopped a bit at the Flea Market, then ...
