... we will be able to see Australia from up there. The view is spectacular. I take the spiral staircase up to the top of the bell tower. There are lots of bells and some of them are very big. My timing is bad. The bells start ringing and my head spends the next ten minutes vibrating.

... is quite dry and has a hilly landscape. There aren’t many trees and the soil is quite dry and stony, so there isn’t much agriculture here either. There seems to be a lot of terraced fields: small areas of land with dry stone walls, which allow any precipitation to seep through slowly as it makes its way down the slopes. There are a number of vineyards as well, but Malta seems to have transitioned into a tourism economy.

Road trip to Gozo via the ferry at Cirkewwa

Today we started the day by walking up to a small street café on the street called Dolmen, near the Trolees supermarket and had a baguette with cheese and a beverage for breakfast. Today the plans is to drive northwest and cross over to the island of Gozo.
