We sat down next to the shop where loads of the locals were sitting; there was an old lady there selling little bags (she didn't try to sell me one). Her mouth was black- the guide joked that she was the village vampire and she wasn't the only one!! Loads of people had the same horrible looking mouths. ... he hostel in the evening we all (Ryan joined us) had an Indian curry for dinner (a rather dodgy one if you ask me) and headed to the bar area for a couple of drinks... Which turned into quite a wild night out with lots of dancing, singing, making friends with the locals and even an Injury as Scarlett fell down a ditch on the way home. Had a rest day today. Woke up sore and tired. I went and got a a Thai massage. It was painful during it. She basically elbowed me and prodded me for an hour. After I felt really good though. The lady said my shoulders were really bad. Then she starting repeating 'free the back' over and over in a voice that sounded oddly like Brent Leslie's. ...

In the late afternoon we headed out into the parched hinterland towards Tham Lot Cave. It was obvious from the villages along the eight kilometer stretch that Burmese refugees had settled here.
