Elephant riding and jungle trekking

A travel blog entry by niomioconnor on Jul 26, 2014

... was just holding on with this hands and feet which was insane! Next we did a zip line station over the river, which was scary but also really fun! And then we had a big Buffett lunch, where we tried some crazy Thai desserts and funky tropical fruits then a big group of us trekked (and I mean trekked!!!) through the jungle. Living the Pai life

A travel blog entry by lucyinthesky. on May 06, 2014

If I got travel sick the bus journey up to Pai would have been horrendous, luckily I was fine which is more than can be said for the people behind and next to me (third time this has happened now!!) It is only a 4 hour trip but mostly uphill and it is famous for its '762 bends' which are really tight! It took us about an hour of shopping around to find a bungalow at 250baht a night which is ok but more expensive than Chiang Rai. The town is also much prettier and busier than I thought. There are a lot of tourists here, which disappoints me a little: I guess Pai being a ...

... on, we began to wonder whether we had even taken the bus to Pai. And if not, where were we in Thailand? Before we disappeared with our driver, out of civilisation's reach and into the cautionary tales of concerned mothers everywhere, we had a quick word with him. Was this really the right way? It seems he had misheard our spurious attempts at Thai, and was taking us to a guesthouse far out of town; ours was actually right next to the bridge in town, a 5 minute walk from where we had ...
