... us. Again, the meal was very good and predictably long - 3 hours. It took so long we decided against ordering any dessert or coffee. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it. The sunset was unfortunately not spectacular because of the haze. Brian enjoyed watching all the container ships go by. ... compared to a train one! There was a double bed with a bunk above (we folded it away), and a king size single with a bunk above.

After going down to deck 9, and exploring all the cafes and facilities, we managed to snaffle a table right at the front (okay bow). Watched the world go by over a couple of drinks, and then watched as we left port. Last year we saw the birth of the Rhine, and this year we went out the mouth.

... Eventually we noticed signs saying "nord zee" which we assumed means North Sea. But is it the LF1a nordzee route or the LF1b nordzee route? Susan's hypothesis is that they are the same route just in opposite directions. Jimbo's hypothesis is that the a route was direct and the b route was the scenic option. ... At 12 we left the house to have a drive around, first we went to the shops to get some chips for lunch and they were nice but cooled down quickly. Driving about Oostvoorne we had a look at the church and light house ruins, papa's primary school and fed some ducks. We also went to Den Briel also known as Brielle and had a look at that church and I learnt a lot about that. A short trip to the beach was nice as we got to see a sled dog team finishing practice. ... older, with a part of the original wall and huge doors still in place. You did not see all the chain stores, only more local quaint shops. Of course we had to sit outside in the square for a coffee. As it was getting later in the day, some of the shops were getting ready to close. But, we did manage to squeeze in a few purchases.
