Each cyclist had 2 motorbike outriders escorting them as they do their circuit and there was also a camera crew on a bike making a film of the event. Unfortunately the rain halted the trial for 20 minutes but away they went again as there were over 200 hundred children competing it was not going to finish ...

On the way back to Damme, we stop a a little manual ferry crossing where you crank yourself along a wire to cross the canal. We had to stop and try it for fun. And, fun it was, at least for Carol, who watched Charlie do all the wheel cranking. Back on the path, our much too unpadded butts are feeling the effects of the ride and both of our left ...

... we let them go ahead and we chose a box mooring with a gap either side, in case we did not end up in the first one we tried! We did though and all went extremely well with our very first solo reversing into a box mooring. At the other times, someone has offered to help with lines, but this time we had an audience and no help. We felt really chuffed with ourselves that we had a glass of wine to celebrate (I know we usually ...
