Kim had taken her grandma to Lucca last November and had fallen in love with the place.

We found a park not far from the city walls and then headed in for a look. We came across a chocolate festival in one of the piazzas and sampled a few beforw buying a hot cocolate drink...literally hot chocolate in a cup. It made me feel a bit sick.

Walking Lucca is like a big ...
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy darrenhough74... to the table. We strolled to our seats, which were at a table for four with two others who had arrived earlier (part of the Il Latini culture), and gazed above at the endless swine rumps hanging from the ceiling. The table had a huge bottle of half full red wine and the first course was nothing but pork in various forms. Needless to say, this wasn't the best culinary choice for Kate's taste, and she did her best. She asked for no ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy harrisons... was not what I expected at all, and now finally a consolation to my lifelong dream, a month in Firenze. I will write about my October travels later; somehow I have been putting it off as I didn't know how I wanted to write it, how the words will come out, if it will be full of dribble...and now I find myself writing about the second half of my trip first. In a way, I am not sure if this is an appropriate channel to write my thoughts. I am not that familiar with what I ...
Firenze, Tuscany, Italy conmeister07... on the next hill. Drove all around the countryside (which I hate to say is much bigger and impressive than Napa). Wine is so cheap and good but unfortunately the majority of grapes had just been picked. Also ventured into Florence for two days of sightseeing. This is one place that is as magnificent as tpublished pictures!
Florence, Tuscany, Italy pathenger... to visit a fair number of places in northern Italy, but not many in the south. When I did travel, I often felt a little constrained except during my three "big" breaks, when I felt a little more at ease. But while I didn't explore as much as I would've liked or with the freedom that I would've preferred, I did get a pretty good grasp of Italian life and hopefully, I'll be able to go back and enjoy some of my favorite things soon. Until next time, Arrivederci!
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy joeleeis... are basically spending our time here relaxing, since there aren't really alot of sites to see. So, we are using this time to do laundry instead! Tomorrow we head off to the Mediterranean coast to Cinque Terre, to a town called Riomaggiore. After two days there, we are headed to Florence for three days, and finally Rome for four days to finish everything off! Take care, everyone! Wayne

Bologna, Italy rambler... garden, somewhere between 9 and 10. We had white wine and water to drink. First came the appetizer, antipasto of melon, prosciuto and fresh fig. This was followed by A's pasta. It was very good and he served everyone's portion from a large bowl. I was very full then, but next came the main course! It consisted of roast beef, stuffed tomato halves, grilled eggplant, breads, and wonderful green beans made with anchovies ...
Bologna, Italy judyf222... it somewhere at the train station so that hopefully some German family or student or something will find it and be able to use it. I would have kept it, but it's just another item that loads me down and I don't really need that. Santo Stefano is also quite the interesting location. It contains 4 different churches, built during different periods, each very different and interesting. Other than that...Bologna was okay ...
Bologna, Italy cpaverill... ways. Tomorrow Cory and I leave for Rome. Cory's Sisters have to head back to Texas via Milan. Cory's Parents are headed north, and my parents are headed south. Tonight we are going to sip on wine on our balcony, eat paninis and have a very romantic evening. Here is a playlist of the events of the day. Videos of everything from the beginning of the day to the picnic on our balcony at the end of the day.www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=8F 11F2E58449B46C
