Plitvice Lakes National Park was where the first shots were fired
in 1991 in Croatian independence war, and the region between Karlovac and
Plitvice witnessed lots of fighting. There are still many houses along the
route full of gunshot holes that haven’t been fixed, and also many abandoned
homes of Serbs who were expelled in 1995. Between 1992 and 1995 parts of

It poured the whole day and didn’t seem to stop! When we arrived at Plitvice, the bus driver insisted we were at the right stop (simply because he didn’t want to stop again further along)! While we stayed on the bus waiting for the ...

Unfortunately, Coral did not feel well enough to walk around the National Park and so she and Will found a cool spot to wait for us in the treed car park area. Grant, Saeko and ourselves did a very fast walk through Plitvicka Jezera National Park enjoying the lakes, waterfalls and ...

What a great hotel, and some of the staff have been outstanding
Breakfast was like being in an asian resort where they have huge buffets. Even though the room wasn't large the options were!
