    ... train - 400 kph - to Tainam, a city to the south of the island. Train was ridiculously fast and we made the journey to the other side of the island in 1 hour 45 minutes. Only downside was we didn't have window seats but it was dark so we didn't miss much to be honest! Arrived in Tainam City at 2200 and checked into a very funky retro 1967 hotel with a washing machine in each room - random but useful!

    Anping, known for its seafood and mostly shrimp that comes in all declinations: fresh, wontons, dumplings, crackers, pancakes and even choux. The town has a few beautiful shrines that are very different from the ones we saw in previous countries, lots of ornaments, more offerings and enough incense to make you faint.
