We made it safely to Poprad, and along the way we were treated to majestic views of the Tatras Mountains and adorable Slovak villages. Poprad itself has a delightful city centre packed with colourful houses and a quintessential white cathedral. However, the outskirts of the town have communist-era written all over them, so naturally, we didn’t spend too much time looking the oppressive concrete structures.

The first day I was having some stomach problems from eating too may hot peppers at a buffet and it was rainy and misty to boot. We started a hike and kinda gave up after an hour or two. We couldn't even see the large lake we were climbing next to. But after I tried a local herbal/honey liquer with a lemon slice at a restaurant, I felt much better.

And . . . if you know about Mike's penmanship, it doesn't really matter that the spelling is missing a "T", as you can't make out the letters of his name anyways!
