The next day we decided to keep the car for another day since the cost of the rental car was only 25 Euro per day and go relax at one of the beaches in the southwest section of the island. We ended up at a remote beach called Pyrgaki and we had the whole beach to ourselves as all the resorts were closed for the season. The ...

We waited out the rain and in the afternoon we decided to walk to the other side of the bay, pass the town of Koukounaries and visit the Mycenaean Acropolis. It was hot, moist and smelled like fish and perfume. This isn't all bad though. I am guessing that these things are what allow the cruise to have the relatively small price. I guess I'm grumpy today. Don't be grumpy. The crew is ...

... partner, Veseline, joined us for dinner. Yannis drove - crazy, scary drive along a narrow road with hairpin bends. The food was amazing - the parsley dip was my favourite - and the company delightful. We all had a wonderful time. I must find the recipe for the parsley dip when I get back. On the way back, Yannis stopped at the Church of Anastasis (Redeemer) on the Vrondado hill to take in the views of Syros and Ano Syros at night. A wonderful day which ended with a fabulous meal at ...
