... to be an enjoyable place. At least the city center was fun and I like that you can knock out the main tourist attraction in a few hours, the Parthenon. After that you do not feel "obligated" to see anything else. I walked around exploring neighborhoods and enjoyed my free time eating Greek froyo and gyros! There is a fun night life scene going on as well. If you can give Athens a couple nights.

... partner, Veseline, joined us for dinner. Yannis drove - crazy, scary drive along a narrow road with hairpin bends. The food was amazing - the parsley dip was my favourite - and the company delightful. We all had a wonderful time. I must find the recipe for the parsley dip when I get back. On the way back, Yannis stopped at the Church of Anastasis (Redeemer) on the Vrondado hill to take in the views of Syros and Ano Syros at night. A wonderful day which ended with a fabulous meal at ...

... The Montasary happened to be located at the top of the highest peak - or at least it seemed that way! We must have taken over 500 stairs to get up there! It was very beautiful and the church was open so we could go in and take pictures. Coming backdown we shomhow managed to take a wrong turn ending up getting lost in and around all the tiny hillside streets for close to 40 minutes!! We walked up and then down, then around, then up and up and up! We ended ...
