    ... totally forgotten about the extra course that my meal came with - cheese! Placed in front of me was a rather hefty wedge of semi-soft cheese with a salty rind upon crushed walnuts and little pieces of toasted 'pain d'épices'.

    After eating ALL of that we got on to dessert. I had a massive crème brûlée and Alyssa had some pain d'épices and ice cream.

    ... high, so we had a relaxing morning instead. Since being in France, we have seen a lot of 'Desperate Housewives' which I never once watched back home but it's the only show in English here! So, we may have watched an episode or two of that this morning. I know, we're terrible. Plus now I'll have to watch it on Netflix when I get home, because it's addicting!

    ... bags and set off exploring the town. We stopped at the supermarket first and got some supplies for lunch. We sat by the river and made our own sandwiches, which we washed down with a cold beer. We walked around the shops for a bit but most were closed because of their lunch time break, so we returned to the hotel for an afternoon nap.     So today we opted out of the morning excursion to a winery in favor of walking around the town of Chalon on our own. As we entered the town by bus yesterday afternoon, there was a large statue of this man, Nicephore Niepce, the most important man from Chalon. He invented photography. So I remembered the Daguerrotype...from Daguerre, as the first photographer...NOT was Msr N, who photographed his wife in the garden in 1822. ...
