... Friday, and I am going to be ready for it if it does. I have a huge chunk of admin blocked out so will have time on my side but fingers crossed it all goes well.

The weather has turned pretty horrid today with the first major winds - had to wear a beanie to the bus stop for the first time today as my hair was blowing madly and obstructed my visual field - and even then it was tied ...
Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom fizzchickTen more sleeps - yippee.
Woke this am not to the sound of rain as in the previous how ever many mornings but to the sound of the shop across the road opening up - ok it was 9.30am, and I had a lovely little lie in.
Weather actually ok - didn't rain for the first time in over a week, and the sun actually shone today. I'm getting sick of getting soaked wherever I go and hanging for some warmth from sunshine - an alien concept ...
Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom fizzchickFinally worked out my route.

Fly to Armenia, travel through Georgia to Turkey and fly from Istanbul to Mumbai. Work my way across to Calcutta and fly to Bangkok. Through Thailand and Cambodia to Vietnam, then onto China.

I am setting off early September 2010 and aim to be in China early December, maybe.

And then I have to get back...
Derby, England, United Kingdom smirkleby... So I am starting my trip with a head torch yes, but alas no high heels. It is absolutely terrifying knowing that I have exactly 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of walking trouseurs, a pair of jeans, 3 t-shirts, 2 vests, a fleece, a "going out" top (to where I don't know) and 1 dress to last me for the duration! I do however have ever piece of kit under the sun packed, I may have absolutely no idea what I am letting myself in for but I ...
Leamington Spa, England, United Kingdom corrilesa... I'll probably initially feel homesick when I arrive in strange surroundings, but hopefully that will soon pass.

I'm so excited ... new places, new people, the sun - a complete adventure - bring it on!

Back to reality for now, and back to organising storage, insurance, membership cancellations etc.

Ciao for now

xxx
Birmingham, England, United Kingdom oltona... and visited the oldest inn in England (built in 1189AD!) which is built right in to the cliff-face around the bottom of the castle. We took some photos with Robin Hood's statue and wandered around some of the older parts of town. We will probably go back to Nottingham at some point to take some of the more detailed tours within the castle and also a fantastic looking tour of the old court-house and jail.

So there you have it, a ...
Birmingham, England, United Kingdom danfaStarted today by presenting in the cabaret theatre at the Kongo casino. First time I have done that type of gig but it was a fun thing to do.

As always I feel a little sad at leaving Ljubljana, it is a lovely little city in parts. Mainly the centre which is small and medieval and a delight to walk round or just sit and watch the ...
Daventry, England, United Kingdom rustypro... but I wished to say so much more. Luckily, his tirade continued and he didn't even seem to notice or care what I was thinking. Finally after some more abuse, he stamps the passport and I move on shaking my head. Man, do I feel bad for the Ecuadorians who had to pass through him after me! Anyways, we managed to get to the hotel for three hours of sleep before heading back to JFK to head to Bermuda. Before long the water below began to change into the inviting turqoise blue and the ...
Warwick, Bermuda jansmac... to clean up and get the hell out of there before 5.00pm. It has started to rain outside. This is an understatement as it is pouring the proverbial cats and dogs and the roads are awash. The pot holes back along the entrance to the industrial estate I walked down eleven hours ago are full of water. Of course as I walk along in my thin red rain coat my fellow workers show no pity as splashes from their cars wash over me as they race by, hell bent on starting the weekend as ...
Belper, United Kingdom bandglittleAugust 13, 2000 – Sunday

London to Stratford to Oxford

We arrived in Stratford and took a tour of Anne Hathaway's house (the wife of William Shakespeare). Very short people must have lived here, because there is no head room for me in this house. (BevNote: There are SOME advantages to being short!) There are ...
