... both!

I stop in the Phoenix (pharmacy) for a few things and get very excited when I see that about half the store shelves are being devoted to Easter candy and Easter accessories. Easter is a BIG deal in Bermuda and is still a national paid holiday! I have always been homesick for Bermuda Easter festivities that include kite flying, eating hot cross buns and getting together with friends & family.

... not nearly as good as I remember. Spoke to a nice young guy in the café who actually turned out to be a minister (he looked 20 so maybe he was lying but I don’t think so). Anyway super nice guy…everyone here so friendly.

The boat is pretty well prepped, with only provisioning to be done before we leave. I don't think we will leave on Friday as most seafarers are suspicious about it and as we've spooked ourselves with enough tales of lost ships and planes around these parts I think we'll enjoy the celebrations and slip anchor on Saturday! Interesting ...

Half term would be better if it were half the time

A travel blog entry by katymaughan on Oct 26, 2012

So it's my first half-term holiday here in Bermuda. I have only been here for 4 weeks so it's not exactly like I need a holiday, but, hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, so they say. And on the plus side, this is the first time for four years that i have been PAID for holidays so i definitely shouldn't be complaining! I tried to fill my week with activites - here ...
