      ... our students had a free day. This means that they were allowed to pick a movie to watch. They chose White Chicks with Swedish subtitles. Definitely not appropriate for sixth grade students to be watching in school, but their teacher thought it was alright. Sara and I were both pretty shocked that they were allowed to watch it. Needless to say, our students learned a few new phrases that they should not be saying..

      Before we left the Lofoten Islands we decided to visit a Viking museum located about a 45 min. drive from Kabelvag. The museum includes a recreation of a very large Viking lord's longhouse based on an archaeological find in a farmer's field. It has been developed to show many different aspects of the daily lives of the Vikings.
