... on the beach. After a good nights sleep, and another full breakfast we strolled the one short block to the beach. It was a very long semi circle of stones bordering the Irish Sea, I me tend that this is the resort spot for Wales and you can see this here as the beach front was made up of guest houses, hotels and B&Bs. Strolled back to accomodation and left for our next stop which was at Friars Carse in Auldgirth near Dumfries in ...

... that a couple of people were prepared to claim that the £1 bus fare was the best value for money they'd had for some time!

Sunday morning was bright, but with plenty of showers around. After driving to Croesor, we walked (pretty slowly!) up the west ridge of Moelwyn Mawr, getting into the cloud near the top. As there looked to be a chance of the clag clearing, we had lunch just beyond the summit, in a sheltered spot. No clearance, but some ...

A drive to Anglesey

A travel blog entry by smtcan

... It was very fast driving on the A55, through the Conway Tunnel because we by passed all the little towns. We crossed to Anglesey over the 'new' bridge and took the road to Beaumaris. It hasn't changed too much over the years although there are a few more houses along the way. When we entered Beaumaris we saw the marina at the beginning of town, and headed past to ...

The dining room is wood panelled and painted in muted Farrow & Ball blues with jugs of lilies worthy of a page in Country Life. Just gorgeous.

    Historical Traveler Reviews Swn-Y-Mor Llandudno

Swn-y-mor, Great treatment & quality, American friendly!

    from anonymous

Attended a conference in Llandudno with some other colleagues staying at St. George's and other larger hotels - they paid more & got less. Took my wife with me. As an American, now a days, you have to have thick skin in Europe, however Ron, Jean & family were friendly and accomodating beyond any normal expectation. I took my wife & we were contacted regarding an unexpected death of my wife's mother. Even though we were reserved for 6 nights with no down payment, deposit, etc. - and in the suite, no problems whatsoever checking out early & very understanding (wish Delta was as accomodating and friendly). Had no previous experience with Llandudno, so this cements a great experience. Personal service beyond belief, we had to leave at 5:00 AM, Jean got up at 4:30 AM to fix us breakfast. I commented on how much I enjoyed their tea for breakfast, the next day we noticed that tea sitting next to our coffee/tea maker in the room. America hospitality could learn a lesson from the proprietors of the Swn-y-mor. Their success depends on word of mouth. All the best - anyone, anywhere would rate this hotel (Bed & Breakfast) as above excellent if such a category existed.

    Excellent

    from anonymous

Stayed for a weekend break and did not want to come home. Felt more like a family member than a guest. Jean, Ron and Bobbie were fantastic. Very friendly and lots of humour. Hotel very clean and food fantastic/good value, all freshly cooked. Rooms were clean and fresh with a fantastic sea view. The bar was more like your local pub which made you want to stay there all evening (which i did) Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you all.

The hospitality is second to none

    Excellent friendly hotel

A most enjoyable stay at a nice, clean, friendly hotel.

On arrival there was ample parking to the rear of the hotel. The room was very nice. Clean spacious with everything you needed including a lovely view of the bay.

The food was nice and staff had no problems with changes for personal preference. Their bar was also very nice with a good selection of drinks, and a nice atmosphere where you could sit and socialise with the owners and other guests.

In regards to the location of the hotel. It is situated on the promenade, and is only a few minutes walk to some nice shops restaurants and bars.

On the whole the trip was very enjoyable, made so by the genuinely friendly family who own it.

Thank you once again, and we will definitely be back to see you some time soon.

Big thank you to the owners of the Swn-y-Mor hotel who have just made my weekend stay as enjoyable and relaxed as I could have hoped for.

I was made to feel welcome from the moment I stepped in to the time I left, with someone always available to help me or advise me on places of interest.

My room overlooked the bay and had gorgeous views and was clean, airy and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

With onsite parking and a lovely bar I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a truly enjoyable holiday.

    Thanks
