... We planned to hire some sledges and travel down the sledge runs, but due to the weather and lack of visibility, we decided it was better not to. Our hotel is right next to (well a block away from) the Reuss River, the beautiful body of water that winds its way through the city's center and under the gorgeous Chapel Bridge built in 1300. ... br> When we arrived in Lucerne, it was down pouring. We stopped at the visitor center in the station, grabbed a map of the city and started following the path that went past all the sites. There was a huge race that day in Lucerne, so the city was crowded with people and things everywhere. It was a marathon, half-marathon, and 5K.
