The campsite we stayed in in Rugat was interesting for a number of different reasons. Firstly it had its own lake with a good selection of water fowl, a heathly population of red squirrels, and a workforce almost entirely British. Not sure how they all ended up in Rugat but it was a bit bizarre. ...
One of the joys of having plenty time is that you can be flexible with where we want to go and how long we stay somewhere. We have a rough week by week plan of where we want to be but not a day to day timetable.
However this can lead to multiple changes to the days itinerary. We alway start with plan "A" but this regularly can change to plan "B" and sometimes plan "C" appears out of no where! The other day we change our minds several times ...
... boots got used for the first time. We were to up and down before noon so we were not out during the hottest part of the day. We were first to the top but there were plenty of other walkers out in the heat and they were Spanish. So it is not only "mad dogs and Englishmen"!
Even though the campsite was up at 350m the temperature didn't drop much overnight. It was still 30c when we went to bed!
... swimming against the waves. As we started to head back a school of fish decided to swim in our way. I was able to swim ahead of them, but the others were not so lucky...and then the lifeguard proceeded to throw bread in the water for the fish. All in the while Elena is dead center in the school of fish squealing like a little pig. She was completely fine, but it sure did give everyone a good chuckle. By mid-day we found our way ...
