Can only describe the scene from the top of the mountain as spectacular and breathtaking, have never been this high with my feet still touching the ground. ... like that was our first trip to Vienna, when we arrived on a winter's night and came up from the subway directly into Old Town, and it looked like a movie set. Lucerne, however, is stunning because somehow Lake Lucerne, the Alps, and the sky are all the same glorious shade of blue, and the buildings bordering the lake are Disney-perfect in their Alpineness (Alpinity?), and they have the most lovely medieval covered bridges I've ever seen. ...

... musical instruments. At about 1pm we took the cog train down the mountain. It travels down at a 45 degree angle. More great photos. We then sailed across the lake back to Zurich. The lake is enormous shallow in some parts and 700 feet in the deepest part. Tonight we are going to a Tyrolene dinner so that should be interesting.
