HAPPY MOHAMMED's BIRTHDAY, KENNY ROGERS and DOING IT MONKEY-STYLE. Up very early (for me) to catch the train to the airport. It seems school kids here go to school at 6.30am.... arrived at KL and it is all over the shop. KL is completely unstructured, and has a very confusing train system. The Hotel Swiss Garden had no booking for me (doh!) so they …
Malayzing Around
Selamat tengahari from Kuala Lumpur!
I'm currently sitting in a blissfully air conditioned Internet cafe, outside it's an extremely bright 33 degrees Celsius in Kuala Lumpur. Today is actually the first time we have properly seen the sun since being here, the air outside is normally of a dense grey smoggy quality, although cloud or no …
Bye bye Thailand.. Whassup Malaysiaaa!!
We've been in Malaysia now for jus over 12 hours, surprisingly its different.. we reached the border around 5pm Thailand time and had to pay a 10 baht fee, for those who overstayed in Thailand it was a 500 baht charge per day!! Damn!! Weird feeling was losing an hour in less than a second, I knew instanly that we was in another country, ok maybe …
Xmas, Hindu cave, fireflies & overnight train...KL
We decided to spend Christmas in KL. I made all the arrangements about a week before our departure. We were going to fly there since we'd have to wait for Steve to get off of work. On the way back though, I thought it'd be fun to bring the parents on an overnight train trip back to Singapore. The flight was going to take 1 hr but ya have to figure …

Great rooms. Comfy beds. Central to everything. Lovely breakfast. Great stay.

This place was really nice, the service was excellent and we had a great stay. The room was big and comfortable. The only issue we had was that our toilet overflowed, but they moved us so it was ok. Would definitely recommend.

Historical Traveler Reviews Swiss-Garden Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Very good quality vs price
Public places are nice. Staff is generally very friendly and helpful.
The room (standard) I used was not too big, but clean and convenient. My friends received another on the same floor, and this was bigger, equipped with a pc and a large bathroom with separate closed shower.
The swimming pool is a small round pool on the 3rd floor next to the health facilities. For a resort it would be small, but as this is typical a city hotel the pool is certainly convenient. Chairs, towels, etc are available free of charge.
The hotel is situated on a convenient place. The China town and a few shopping centers of Bintang Road are on walking distance. It avoids taxi costs!
In the lobby bar (The bleue lounge) there is evening entertainement. It is convenient but drinks are not cheap.
Internet is available in business center and in the lobby. A card at myr 10 is available at the reception. It is valid for 1 hour within 24 hours to be used.
Lovely Hotel
Everything about the hotel was excellent. Lovely clean room, comfortable bed, spotless huge bathroom with walk in shower and a bath as well. Seperate toilet. Satellite tv. Health and Beauty rooms offering treatments. Lovely pool area. If I had to be negative about something it is just the surrounding area which is a bit scruffy. It is literally a two minute walk tothe main Bukit Bintang shopping street and malls but the road that this hotel is on is somewhat disheartening. Taxi rank outside hotel offering excellent service to all areas of KL. Would recommend this hotel
Good value for money
Stayed at the Swiss Garden for 2 nights. The hotel is okay. The room was small and the washroom was tired looking - the water pressure of the shower was horrible. But the breakfast was good, the room was clean and it's walking distance to the main area. So, it's a good value for your money. Not sure if I would stay here again. Might want to try something else.
Great place
Stayed at the Swiss Garden last year for 4 nights and again this year for 3, would have stayed longer but had been booked into the Grand Season as a group for a wedding reception.
Loved everything aout the Swiss Garden, location was ideal for getting about, last year we walked to most places, Chinatown and the KL Tower we managed to walk to, although we got a taxi back from the latter. The Time Square Mall we loved, again in walking distance, I bought perscription designer eye glasses last year for £50, this year my husband and myself bougt a pair, £130 for both, great fit and the service was excellent, they rang our hotel to inform us when they were ready (next day)
The buffet breakfast in the swiss Garden was excellent, as was the evening buffet, loads of choice. Will stay here again when we return to KL.
Great Value
Great value for money, loaction close to chinatown and shopping plazas. Generally very comfortable, downside warmish shower and not Hot as expected.
Good Hotel in a great location
We stayed at the Swiss Garden for 3 nights in June 2004 on the way to Langkawi and for one more night on our way back to Britain. On the first night we had to have a twin room as we wanted a non-smoking room and they only have one floor for non-smoking (the 13th!).
The second night we moved to a room with a double bed.
Breakfast was included and was a varied buffet.
The hotel is ideally situated close to Bintang Walk and Chinatown.
My boyfriend used the pool and sauna and said they were adequate and quite refreshing.
On our last night in KL we had the special buffet for 55RM for 2 people and ate sushi, oysters, Malaysian food, cakes, the lot! Excellent value.
Drinks are expensive, but that seems to be the case in Malaysian hotels.
We would recommend this hotel to people visiting KL, and would stay there again.
Swiss Garden Hotel
The Swiss Garedn was fabulous and in particular a Staff Member called Asean. She was VERY helpful in getting my internet connected.
Hotel is well located and great facilities.
Try a massage.

P.S. I will be back
I loved it
The hotel was one of the best things of the whole trip ..we stayed in atriple room which was so big and comfortable and the the staff were the best there. The only problem which i don't think is really that big is that the staff don't know anything about the attractions in the city .If you're thinking of going to Kuala Lumpur this is the best choice you can take.
Can't get better a better location at great value in KL
Our package deal holiday included 3 nights stay at the Swiss garden hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It is important that you don't confuse this with the Swiss Inn, although it is the same hotel group (I think) this one is a bit more superior and in a better location.
When we arrived at this hotel, it was better than I expected as I had confused it with the Swiss Inn.
The lobby area and staff are very welcoming, courteous and helpful. Although there was a slight mishap with our room, this did not bother us at all as the hotel was pretty good and the rooms were nice, clean and comfortable.
The hotel is literally less than 5 minutes walk away from the cities main shopping malls - which are abundant and huge, and also about 5 minutes taxi ride away from the petronas towers and KLCC tower. About 15-20 minutes walk away is the bustling Chinatown where you can get good food and buy the odd designer knock-off designer handbag or DVD film!
6 nights a week there is a live music band in the bar (Radical Zone when we visited) which provided lively and also relaxed entertainment. The prices in the bar though are ridiculously expensive - Three 500ml bottles of evian cost GBP £6... so watch out!!!
We were also lucky enough to have stayed while there was a buffet promotion in the restaurant. The food was really good and so cheap at 55RM for 2 people. They also have a regular menu but we didn't use this as the buffet was much better value and there was more of a variety.
The only disappointment we suffered during our stay was that although we did go to see the petronas towers, we never went up the viewing bridge. We arrived on saturday evening and were leaving tuesday morning - the viewing bridge is closed on Mondays so our only hope was sunday morning.
We were told late morning that you are supposed to queue up very early in the morning as 1000 tickets are given out daily (except monday) on a first come first serve basis from 8 or 8:30am.
Nobody actually warned us about this so we were so disappointed in the hotel and our tour rep for not telling us - even though they knew we were going there on sunday morning.
If I ever went back to KL I would definitely stay at the swiss garden hotel again.
Best Hotel for your money in Kuala Lumpur!
We live in a small town in Malaysia and whenever we visit Kuala Lumpur we always book a hotel since we are carrying a small baby. We always book through the internet and that way we tried at least 10-15 different hotels, ranging from 3 to 5 stars.
So far Swiss Garden is THE best one and at a very reasonable price. Service is excellent, rooms are nice and clean, its close to the biggest malls and just 10 minutes away from Petaling Street. Lobby is nice, parking is free and the breakfast is one of the best and most complete I have seen so far. Dinner in the restaurant is very good but pricy, but nobody is perfect!
Standard rooms are RM 140 and Deluxe rooms are RM 160. Look around on the internet and don't pay more then that.
