Tioman Island: After enduring a full days travelling, from Redang Island back to the Mainland, lunch in Kuala Terengannau, then a 5 hour bus & taxi journey to Kuantan, to the pluch Swiss Garden Resort Hotel for a treat. Unfortunately we had a bit of a miserable stay, just not used to the impersonal concrete 5 star jungle, & we would rather have stayed elsewhere. Anyway, after 2 nights in Kuantan, we endured a 3 hour taxi ride to Tanjung Gemok & boarded the Ferry to Pulau Tioman. A...
Mersing, Malaysia adrian.gfcWell, we've seen some of the sights of Georgetown now. Colonial Architecture (crumbly buildings), and saw some of the local culture (prostitutes), and some of their advanced Public Works systems (open sewers). And rain - lots of rain! Aside from the highlights, we did go on the funicular railway up Penang Hill, which was lots of fun. The scenery at the top was wonderful looking out over Georgetown. Not quite as built up as Hong Kong, but still was pretty neat. We saw the typical macaques (mon...

... we were staying on the beach and it was only for one night, I didn't really pack much more clothes than the boots coveralls and an extra t-shirt. So I was definitely that shirtless foreign guy on the beach with his jeans rolled up looking like an idiot. The water was really warm (obviously) but I couldn't get in for a swim since these were the jeans I was wearing on the plane later in the afternoon. Ate breakfast at the hotel and got back in the van with ...

Bises
Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia ericetmanu... location it's not in the centre and u see the real singapore! - do book in advance - more than 2 days! :) But have to say that I'm a proud owner of a plant (a plastic one that shines) and it "works" on solar energy and GLOWS @ night!!! I'm a huge fan of all the futuristic **** (together with clocks that run in the wrong direction, all the japanese unknown plastic figures - especially cats in the boxes!, hello kitty figures etc.) It's like 6.10 am and it's still ...
Cherating, Malaysia zalazala... mask started leaking badly, this got on my nerves so much that i took the thing off twice underwater & tried to refit it better on my face, which was unsuccesful, & my eyes were killing me from all the salt water. As i was getting annoyed, my air was being ...
Cherating, Malaysia isax... we were not so lucky that night. It was a futile 4 hrs wait. There were some other tourists and locals who were so determined they stayed awake all the way till morning though. The baby turtles on display in the conservation centre provided some entertainment for us. Those cute little creatures scampered about in the blue tank. They were so small, their shells just similar to the size of a ping pong ball. If left to fend for themselves in the wild open sea, their ...
Kuantan, Malaysia chengengxin... our guide. Our journey into the Jungle started on the river heading up stream in a narrow wooden motor boat. 20 mins later we hopped off and walked a couple kms to our base camp. It was actually a lot nicer than I imagined. We had a great three bedroom cabin overlooking the river. That afternoon our guide took us for a "warm-up" hike, only 45 mins (straight up!). Part of the way we used a rope to help the upward climb. Passing through 3 different types of rainforest ...
Endau Rompin, Malaysia megandmatt... metido, toca ir a explorar.
