In mijn vorige verslag, waren we gebleven in PNG in Madang. De volgende dag hebben we het vliegtuig genomen naar Vanimo, de grensplaats met Papoea het Indonesische gedeelte van Nieuw Guinee. De vlucht liep deze keer zo goed als op tijd, weinig vertraging wat heel apart is voor PNG. In Vanimo toch nog een kamer gevonden ondanks het congres. Vanimo is een klein plaatsje. Niet wat je zou verwachten van de enige grensplaats ...

Well getting an hotel room in Vanimo turned out to be not a problem at all. Guess one of the conferences was canceled like many things get canceled in PNG. Next thing to get was a visa for Indonesia. This was also a real easy thing and a nice surprise as we even got a 60 day
visa which we didn’t expect to get. So we don’t need an extra flight out of Indonesia and back in again which saves us precious time and money. Just ...

Well I am still hanging out in Japyapura waiting for a visa to Papua New Guinea (PNG) so that I can do a visa-run over there, obtain a new Indonesian visa and then return to Indonesia. Other than that I am still running errands which is lots of fun as usual. I swear that at least 500 people say hello to me each day which becomes quite exhausting. It's always some variation of 'Hello Mister'. Now this has been going on for the last month or so ...

I arrived safely into Jayapura at about 2pm today. The flight was very scenic with a series of picturesque, tropical islands giving way to massive, jungle covered mountains without a trace of human existence for miles and miles.
