... Branson, MO I encounter several traffic jams on the Interstate, we actually come to a complete stop on a number of occasions. The 35 mile drive to Springfield takes about 90 minutes. (Doh!) If you didn't get the Simpsons reference, you may be too old. All of the traffic jams happen around on-ramps, and is due to Labor Day RV/Boat traffic and the fact that 'Mericans are the worst mergers ever! (See below)

We started our travel out early this morning. It was so early my wife never got out of her night gown for an hour or so after we hit the road. This is motor home living. You can do things in your travel that you could not do otherwise. I have not seen my wife in makeup since we left home and the old girl is still looking pretty ...
... hundreds of them that had red flashing lights and they all flashed at the same time. It looked pretty weird to see them. We stopped around 10pm at a La Quinta inn at Salina, Kansas and got a room for the night. We all got some much needed showers, tried to find enough plugs to charge all of our electronics, and headed to bed.
