There's somwthing odd about this place!

... sticky mud. It had mostly driedto hard smooth dirt, but we also hit some wickedly bumpy hard pack gravel. Our aim was to get to a campsite in a nature reserve 57 miles away. It held delights of the best tasting spring water known to man, a beautiful lake and swans with a 7ft wing span. Matty had already riddin 30 miles so it was a big push for him. On the way we passed the two guys from the hotel. They had enough for the day and found a fishing spot. We chatted while ...

Driving yellowstone

Charlie - "I have so many smell memories, I can lay on the seat and dream all day about them. I am excited to know that i have marked territory through several states."

Toni - Decided to go up through West Yellowstone to Cody, Wy as it looked to pricey to stay anywhere near the Tetons. Early on, I saw some elk in the river and then I got to "Old Faithful" parking lot and got a close space (miraculous) and found hundreds of people ...

Love it here

... is a great little town. Motel 6 here had internet problems. I finally had them switch rooms and I could get on. It was a very nervous feeling to be incommunicado!! Ah for the days when you just jumped into your car armed with a suitcase, picnic basket and a radio, and had to find a phone booth to get in touch with home. Trying to keep up with ...

Jackson Hole

... cross road was paved, the road it was pointing me to was gravel.(4100 Rd E, Idaho. Look it up) Gravel? No problem right? ONWARD! So I'm driving on this gravel road, and it begins to narrow. Before I know it I'm driving on a dirt(may as well say mud after all the rain) with a barbed wire fence on one side and a freshly plowed potato field on the other side. With about a foot of clearance for the tires. Obviously I can't turn ...

Vineyard Tour

Hey peeps, Well the wine tasting tour went down a treat!! We were up early and out the door by 8.30am ready to catch the bus into the city and then walked through to the bus station on Wellington Street to be picked up. After a quick stop off at Croissant Express we jumped on our tour bus and headed towards Swan Valley. The sky was grey and it showered on and off for most of the day but thankfully we were under cover so didn't manage to get soaked! We ...

Visit with friends

As I've said before, one of the best parts about traveling around the country is catching up with friends. Today, we went into Jackson and walked around the downtown area. I've been talking with an old friend of mine who we haven't seen in years. Frank Tsamoutales and his wife Kim are out from Florida to their place in Jackson. They invited us ...

Colter Bay

We were blessed that the RV park had a cancellation, so we could stay one more night. We had to move to another spot, but we were just glad to have gotten a spot. Once we got moved, we started driving through the Teton National Park. We made several stops to see the 'Old Jackson Hole Inn,' have lunch on Jenny lake and at one of the ranger headquarters. Although this park is pretty ...

Arrival in the Tetons

... and spent part of a day at Teton Village where I took the aerial tram to the top of Rendevous Mountain. It was another beautiful day, although there was smoke in the air again from a fire that had just started not that far away. While on my way back to camp on the second night, I (and many others) came upon a bull moose feeding just off the side of the road! Despite some lighting problems, I managed to get some pretty good shots from only 50 feet away!

Wine Tasting Tour

Went on a Wine Tasting tour today with 4 other people, and our tour guide Justin. We went to Swan Valley, which is 35km from Perth, and is one of the biggest wine production areas in Australia. We went to 4 different vineyards and tasted about 10 wines in each place, as well as port (which by the way is the most disgusting drink we've ever tasted!) Most of the staff were very friendly and at the 2nd vineyard we sat in the middle at a picnic bench drinking wine and eating cheese ...

Great Day at Yellowstone and Beyond

... leave you pass the next bunch of excited people coming to get their view of it.
Backtracking so I could exit through the south entrance since it was getting late I had to forgo seeing much more, but I was running low on cash and had much more country to see and hoped to return on a future trip and spend more time here. I could see the Tetons off to my right as I went south. I did get a couple of photos of the ...
