    ... the special people in my life and how awesome it was to have some of them up in Bozeman for graduation, so I decided to start writing some thank-you's. I discovered that writing cards in the woods is a lot harder than it seems. For those of you whose thank-you's seem a little dusty and perhaps written by a 120-year-old man, I preemptively apologize.
    My plan was to head for and camp near Kalispell the next day, so I read a little then headed to bed.

    ... beckoning. Finally I turned off on a tiny trail called 583D1, and that is where we are, probably literally miles and miles from the nearest human being. My crude altimeter says we're at about 6500 feet. Gonna be a long way back to 12. Tomorrow - further south and further east, though I should probably stop going east as I am already at the longitude of Salt Lake City.

    + Day 12. Sunday 24th August. Whitefish to Bigfork. We really liked Whitefish, a cosmopolitan little place with nice cafés, boutiques and a great bike shop who gave us sound advice on keeping our steeds healthy on the road and allowed us to give them a good hosing down in their back yard. The campsite was a mile and a half out of town so we checked in, put the tent up, had a shower and then pedaled leisurely (painfully) back into town to relax at a cafe - making one latte ...
