... but I was starting to get hungry, so I made some dinner. This was the first night I tried the quinoa-brown rice packets I brought on the trip and they are awesome! Thanks for getting those for me mama.
I found a tree that was overrun with Old Man's Beard (a layman's term for some sort of moss that grows off of the trees) and that makes it really easy to start a fire, so Day 3's fire was even better than the last. I got to thinking ...

+ Day 12. Sunday 24th August. Whitefish to Bigfork. We really liked Whitefish, a cosmopolitan little place with nice cafés, boutiques and a great bike shop who gave us sound advice on keeping our steeds healthy on the road and allowed us to give them a good hosing down in their back yard. Those of you who were following my planning for this trip, know the angst I had over getting to Many Glacier and then be able to camp in the campground which often fills before 7 in the morning. being a "worry wart " I lost sleep both at home and last night in my tent about how it would all work out. the short version is that it all worked out. heres the longer version:
Today I woke early (5:30) from a somewhat restless night. my restless ...

Yesterday was a transition day. We stopped at Walmart in Butte and stocked up on some fruits and vegetables. Stayed at a Forest Campground in Flathead National Forest. It smelled like I was in the middle of a pine scented Yankee Candle. We walled down to Holland Lake and watched a doe eat and walk around our campsite for over an hour. Better than any reality show. Next stop ...
